Xmas present

Fantastic film bought this as a present from santa for my kids to watch on Xmas morning. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it as well ☺

Guaranteed score.

I bought this because I'd invited a tasty goth girl over for a few bottles of wine and a film/chill session (my income is too inconsistent for Netflix). Needless to say she spent the night ;) Alas she spent it in my bed and I on the sofa because she got a bit too drunk and felt sick so I looked after her. Still, she's coming back next week for Robocop :D Oh, the film is great too

As good as ever

I did have the DVD version of The Nightmare Before Christmas, however as Zavvi had the Blu-Ray at such a great price I upgraded. There are the obvious improvements in sound quality, however the HD version is only marginally better than the DVD. It's still worth going for in my opinion.

A Christmas Favourite with a twist

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a colourful tale of a frustrated Jack Skellington who is in trust as the king of Halloween celebrations, when stumbling on Christmas Town after a long walk and there the fun begins with Halloween Town staging Christmas to give Santa a break. The films brilliance is brought to life in HD and despite the Halloween theme will soon have you singing along to the fantastic score.

Spooky greatness

It may be almost twenty years old, but this spooky animated musical still delights. It's very Tim Burton (unsurprisingly - he's a co-writer) with a great selection of Danny Elfman songs. The Blu-ray is crisp and revitalises the film a treat. Still brilliant! I would also strongly recommend the similarly dark and superb "Coraline" - again from director Henry Selick.

A Nightmare Before Christmas

The video transfer from dvd to blu ray is far superior, detail is well defined, contrast is well balanced through out and when jack skelington arrives in christmas town, wow! colours really pop off the screen, even the darkest portions and the intensionally dark and dreary halloween land of which jack originates is much more clearer, blacks are deep and inky and resolution is overall more refined showing more background info that was barely noticeable on standard dvd editions. overall this is well worth the upgrade to blu ray putting the dvd to shame, there is also a brand new commentary by director 'Tim Burton' and an introduction to introduce you to his thoughts on the much improved blu ray plus much more, this is the perfect time to pick up this on blu ray, in between the halloween and christmas period and is definately a must own for fans! thank you for reading Bezza

Great video quality

A masterpiece by Tim Burton. The story needs no description. We all know that is very good. The real innovation of the Blu-Ray edition is the video quality - unbelievable. The detail, contrast and colors are excellent, much better than the dvd and the audio is powerful. A fabulous PCM 7.1 for English and a good dts for the others languages. This Blu-Ray is really good and I recommend it to everyone.
