The first X-men film may no longer be the best X-Men film. Having been surpassed by 3 of its sequels (X2, First Class & Days of Future Past). But it's still a joy to watch Bryan's Singer well crafted first attempt. From Hugh Jackman's spot on turn as fan favourite Wolverine to Ian McKellan's high camp Magneto, there's a lot to like. It may lack the grand set pieces of it's sequels. But it's a solid start to the long running franchise. Plus it's not as rubbish as X-Men: The Last Stand.
