Established in 2000, the American-based Blumhouse Productions is a film and television series production company, which was named for its founder: Jason Blum.

Since the release of 2007’s Paranormal Activity, which was created for a minute $15,000 and grossed more than $193 million during its theatrical run, their principal strategy has involved producing films on a relatively small budget, encouraging directorial independence, and facilitating a wide release.

Further examples of this strategy can be seen with the films Insidious and Sinister, made for $1.5 million and $3 million, respectively. Both of these films made just short of $100 million worldwide, granting huge profit margins.

Horror And Drama

They are known primarily for their many low-budget horror films, having established their own Haunted Movies division in 2010.
