Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) is the security guard at Cold Mountain Penitentiary, a holding jail for criminals sentenced to the death penalty. When death row inmate John Coffey (Michael Clark Duncan) is convicted for the rape and murder of two young girls, he forms a connection with Paul. Despite John’s menacing physical appearance, Paul sees a tender and harmless nature to John and starts to believe that he is innocent. As the days draw closer to the execution Paul can only look on powerlessly as his new found friend faces his final days.

Powerful drama from the Oscar nominated director of The Shawshank Redemption. (Matt Fairfield)

Superb!

Superb service, next day delivery on one of my top five films, bought on a Mad Monday deal! Not watched it yet but it's there for a rainy day. Thanks.

The Green Mile

Bought for my son's birthday and he thought it was a great film!

Review of The Green Mile

Get your hankies out for this one! Probably 2nd to the Shawshank Redemption. Even more poignant now that Michael Clarke Duncan has recently passed away. Incredible perfomance from Michael and Tom Hanks. Maybe you have a Mr BoJangles under your floorboards?

Brilliant

I'd give this film 6stars if i could its brilliant almost as good as Shawshank. Considering i am sci-fi mad two of my favorite films have little or no special effects, but are simply based on strong solid stories and brilliant acting. With the basic premise of having hero's and villans, this film a has a twist though as the criminal is the hero and the cop is the villian ! It all make for an excellent movie. Enjoy !!!
