In The Liar (Valehtelija) Ville Alfa (Aki Kaurismaki), an overly intellectualising hyper-manic young drifter, cannot stop telling lies. His fabrications allow him to seduce girls and borrow seemingly endless amounts of money from friends, family and complete strangers. But lying about the death of his brother lands him in hot water. Can he curb his compulsion for pathological lying?
