In 2007, Super Mario Galaxy took the world of video games by storm. Now this first true Mario sequel in years re-energizes the franchise with new levels and new power-ups. Plus this time Mario gets to team up with his dinosaur buddy Yoshi, who adds new possibilities to the gravity-defying game play. It's everything you love about the first game and more.

  • Mario collects stars as he travels from galaxy to galaxy. Every level is new, but the game retains the charm, sense of wonder and beauty in line with Mario's history. Mario works his way through the various levels, sometimes upside-down, sometimes floating from place to place.
  • On some stages, Mario can find an egg, smash it open and hop onto the back of Yoshi. Yoshi can use his tongue to grab items and shoot them back at enemies, or to snag attach points and swing across chasms. Yoshi has an interesting diet. When he eats a Dash Pepper, he gets so hot
  • and frenzied he can run up steep inclines and vertical walls. When he eats a Blimp Fruit, he inflates like a balloon and floats to new heights.
  • New power-ups include a drill that Mario uses to tunnel through the planet's surface all the way to the other side of a planet.
  • Skilled players will want to collect new Comet Metals, which will unlock harder Levels with even more challenges.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Kids love the game, which actually comes with a DVD on how to play it. Brilliant!

super marion galaxy 2

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a really good game - you can ride on Yoshi and it's genuinely just lots of fun.

Love It!

Cast your minds back to 2007. A brand new mario game, "Super Mario Galaxy" was released for the Wii (which by the way, if you dont have you NEED to get). It amazed millions and is considered by lots as the best game on the wii. Galaxy 2 is very similar. In terms of style, gameplay and overall feel. It almost feels like a levels pack, adding more levels and powerups to an already great game. If you are looking for an amazing story which is gripping and shocking then dont look here, but if you are looking for a very fun game which you can play over and over again and still have fun then this is the game for you. To close Mario Galaxy 2 is more of the same, however, this is not always a bad thing, portrayed pefectly in this game. The addition of Yoshi makes it alot of fun, and some of the new powerups are great too. The game is huge thanks to the 242 stars available to get, all through different methods. An excellent game, but if you cant afford galaxy 2 yet then settle for galaxy 1, and equally excellent game, which comes joint first in my opinion with galaxy 2 as the best games on the wii, or even a nintendo console in the last few years.......

"Let'sa Go" on another super galactic adventure!

If you're a similar age to me then you will surely remember the warm fuzzy feeling you would get playing Super Mario 64? Defeating the almighty Bowser? Finding that last eighth red coin for that star it had taken you hours to locate? Well I do! That was in 1997. No Mario game since has given me the same pleasure of playing. Until now! Super Mario Galaxy 2 handles almost exactly the same from the players perspective, except with the added brilliance that is the Wiimote! Shake your controller to send enemies spinning, then run over and kick them into oblivion! Kill your enemies to reveal those oh so precious golden coins - iconic to the Mario series and crucial if you want to earn a few extra lives, for...well, ya know, just in case! The gameplay itself is fantastic, similar game environments from Super Mario Galaxy make an appearance, albeit new and improved, along with levels from Super Mario 64 itself! The graphics themselves are quite literally out of this world! As are the orchestral scores used throughout the game! This is the Mario game that sets the bar for all future Mario games to be compared to. For any Mario fan, this game is a must! Now, grab yourself a copy and "Lets'a Go" on another super galactic adventure!

awesome game

Mario Galaxy 1 was amazing, and I did not think that it could be beaten, but this game is even better than the first. Every level is unique and not a rehash of the first game. The introduction of yoshi makes this game so much fun - feed him a hot pepper and he runs like the clappers, feed him a balloon and he inflates and flies up - you have to try it! I bought this game for my kids but i am addicted too. I'm 28 and my youngest is 4 and we all love it - definately the best wii game of the year! There are more bosses to beat, more amazing levels, and the 2 player mode makes battles so much easier. If you buy a wii game this year, make it this one!

Best game for the Wii? Probably!

Nintendo have done it again. Mario Galaxy 2 is a joyous experience. I haven't had as much sheer fun playing a game for a long time. Controls are as tight as ever and the difficulty has been ramped up a little since the last game, meaning a more satisfying challenge for seasoned Mario pros. I can't think of anything bad to say about this game. It's non-stop entertainment all the way. I finished the last level earlier today and I've still only seen about a quarter of what the game has to offer - it's huge! If you own a Wii, you owe it to yourself to get this game. 10/10.
