The Trip is simply a joy to watch
So having been a very big fan of every Steve Coogan comedy series - I couldn't wait to get my hands on The Trip. To my delight, The Trip has exceeded all my expectations on so many levels.. and for me, this series has now earned 'hall of fame' status in my comedy DVD collection. You follow Steve and Rob Brydon (playing themselves) on a short trip around Yorkshire (in a documentary/fly on wall style) whilst they stop off to review highly regarded restaurants on the way. It's all about the conversations they have..At times I felt truly engrossed and highly amused by Rob and Steve's opinions and disagreements on random subjects - amazing ideas and "script?!" for what seems quite a small scale, subtle series. At other times it was hilarious watching them compare their own impressions of people. It's simply a joy to watch and you'll find yourself watch the whole series all in one go, over and over again! There is also a very dark feel to this series, which is quite refreshing to see for once. It makes the series seem much more realistic, and at times, I even felt sorry for both Rob and Steve's characters. This is a must have comedy series and I will be watching this for years to come. A brilliant investment!!! Rich
