Samurai Jack is an action-adventure cartoon television series that premiered in 2001 and was created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network.

Samurai Jack tells the story of Samurai warrior Jack from a feudal Japanese kingdom, who is sent forward in time to a dystopian future by the tyrannical shape-shifting demon and evil being known as Aku. Jack's father was given a magical katana from three gods; Ra, Rama, and Odin so he could defeat and imprison Aku.

Aku sent Samurai Jack forward in time just before Jack could land the finishing blow in their epic battle, and Aku predicted that he could defeat Jack in the future after he had had many years to learn and prepare. Jack is brought to the future with only his sword and the clothes on his back must tackle various challenges in his quest to travel back to his own time and defeat Aku once and for all before he can take over the world.
