Resident Evil Revelations heralds a return to classic Resident Evil gameplay and is packed with terrifying moments and an intense canon storyline, all in stunning 3D. Set in 2005, Resident Evil Revelations contains new content that answers questions and reveals truths from the main Resident Evil storyline between Resident Evil 4™ and Resident Evil 5™.
The all new narrative builds tension and the fast paced action delivers a constant fear of the unknown, all brought to life in 3D. With a mix of favourite faces, such as Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, as well as mysterious new characters and enemies, you’ll be constantly wondering who to trust.
Jill and Chris, both members of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), have new partners; Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat. Each team must investigate different angles of the bioterrorism threat in Europe at the same time as working out how their bioterrorist enemies are able to stay one step ahead of them.
Explore a variety of mountain and coastal locations as well as a dark and deserted ocean liner to discover the truth. With horrors and unknown threats around each corner, you’ll need nerves of steel to search claustrophobic rooms and caves.
Resident Evil Revelations has been specifically designed to make the best use of the Nintendo 3DS capabilities. Use the Touch Screen for quick, direct weapon selection and item usage while the shooting system has also been enhanced to bring you right into the game, allowing you to switch from third to first person perspective. The game is also compatible with the new slider pad, a second circle pad with two more shoulder buttons, enabling you to interact with the environments in new ways.
In true survival horror style, you’ll need to endure time-sensitive challenges, solve puzzles and escape deadly horrors, from sinking ships to zombie onslaughts. Utilise the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen to crack puzzles and store items that don’t fit in your inventory as well as keeping track of locked doors you can’t yet open in the Game Notes. Armed with a Genesis Scanner, you can now analyse enemies as well as exploring areas and revealing hidden items.

I would say this is the second best resident evil game in my opinion, with resident evil four at number 1. it has the best graphics and 3D effects of a 3DS game so far comparable to Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360 and PS3. The control style(think resident evil 5) is comfortable and easy to pick up and works great with the circle pad pro. although having the over the shoulder view from resident evil 5 and move and shoot from operation raccoon city, it has the same feel as resident evil 1 as throughout most of the game you are constricted to the ship. It is done on levels, more like resident evil 4 than 5 as you can't just replay the same mission repeatedly to get good guns, it is linear. On the ship levels you have restricted ammo and it is a very classic resident evil experience as opposed to the style of gameplay in other levels such as when you are in Terragrigia which is very similar to resident evil 4 and 5 where you have strong firepower and just shoot at everything that moves. It took me 14 hours to complete and it has a storyline that doesn't let you put the game down. After you progress through the game a bit you will unlock raid mode which is like Resident evil code veronica's battle game where you go through portions of levels and kill BOWs, which you can do with a friend or random stranger, the online play is about as efficient as that of Xbox Live. Whether you're a new or old Resident Evil fan this game does the series great justice.
I was really impressed with the level of quality contained on this small cartridge, Resident Evil: Revelations truly is as excellent example of what the Nintendo 3DS can do. A good lengthy single player campaign, much better than Resident Evil 5, and a polished local/online multiplayer mode to seal the deal. I personally recommend getting the Slide Pad Pro with Resident Evil Revelations as it truly makes playing the game easier, and overall increases the player's experience.
If you need a good reason to buy a Nintendo 3DS, then Resident Evil: Revelations is the best you can get! From the incredibly detailed graphics, to a nice and gripping storyline, Revelations pits you in a blend of old survivor horror from the series with some action packed sequences from the newer entries. The gameplay is excellent, even more with the Circle Pad Pro, allowing for a much more comfortable experience. Resident Evil: Revelations is undoubtedly one of the best games on the 3DS and a fine example of the hardware's true power!
If you're a fan of Resident Evil, then you won't be disappointed with this game. It was the main reason I bought the 3DS after playing it on someone else's. The controls work brilliantly, but I would recommend getting the Circle Pad Pro, it makes it even better to play. No, doubt, an excellent addition to the Resident Evil series!
For the price, you get a pretty good game, and most importantly a good Resident Evil. Resident Evil: Revelations reminds you of the old days when the franchise was more about thriller and puzzles than just plain action/shooter. It is recommendable (but not necessary) to play with the Circle Pad Pro, it becomes quite helpful for the camera.
I've played almost all of the Resident Evil games that exist. This one on the 3DS, maintains that horror-edge that the first ones had and even manages to scare us from time to time. I thought that being on a hand-held it wouldn't be so scary, but I was wrong. It uses the 3DS very well, probably one of the best on the 3DS so far. The storyline is pretty good and it never gets boring, as it works with a 'chapter' system, letting us play different views of the story. To all those who like a good survival horror and are looking for a good 3DS game, this is one of the best choices.
Resident Evil: Revelations is one of the must-have 3DS games out now! Capcom have definitely returned to Resident Evil's roots with this game; the creepy atmosphere of every location in the game helps to increase the sense of tension that you experience as you go around every corner or every dark corridor. Definitely a 3DS essential, five stars!
I first saw this title when Nintendo came to where I work, promoting the 3DS, and to be honest, this is why I got the console. The graphics are great, and it's one of the only games I can play with the 3D mode turned on. If you like 3D in the menu, you can choose to turn the extremity of the 3D up, so the background just flies back . The game-play is excellent. By switching from character to character, you get a better feel to the whole story. If you have not played the game for a few days, and forgot what's going on, it updates you with a short film of your progress in the game. I highly recommend you buy it.
Resident Evil: Revelations is split into a number of chapters, and sees players control Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and a few other characters through a variety of missions, so you'll find yourself venturing through many environments, including snow-covered peaks, deserted cruise ships, and cities under siege. I think this mixture of environments is a good way of making sure players don't get bored. Resident Evil: Revelations throws away the tank controls of older games, keeping the third-person control scheme, and shooting action seen in Resident Evils 4 and 5. This means you can shoot from both 3rd person or first person views, to fit your game-play style. The Circle Pad pro is supported, and is a must-have, as it helps the game play like a console game, as if it were something you'd play on an Xbox 360, or Playstation 3. I highly recommend it.
Before Resident Evil: Revelations was released, Capcom justified the high price because they viewed it as a full-fledged game, being comparable with stationary console games, which most people agree, was a bad assumption. Although the price was too high at that time for a hand-held game, it really is a very high-quality product. The graphics, I'd say, are the best you will see on the 3DS, especially the 3D effects - they're great, and you can enhance them in the graphic options. The music and effects underline the horror atmosphere very well, and at times, you even get goosebumps. With the Circle Pro Pad, the game-play is very smooth. It feels like you're playing on a stationary console like an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. The multi-player is comparable with the Mercenary mode in other Resident Evil games, so is therefore great! The online mode is compatible to play with other gamers as well, and works nicely. On a negative note, backtracking occurs quite often, and should not be an issue in a modern game. I've had major problems when playing in a well-lit area, due to the surroundings in the game being dark, but this is just down to the mirror-effect, which makes the visibility whilst playing close to zero. It's a major mood-killer. The puzzles feel like they were made for small children. This game is supposed to be sold to adults, and therefore, one can expect to get puzzles that go above a primary school level. Overall though, I think this is one of the best games you will find available for the Nintendo 3DS. If Capcom had avoided the aforementioned problems, this game could have taken its place among the main Resident Evil series and been named "Resident Evil 6". I recommend it highly though.
Over the past decade, the Resident Evil series has changed dramatically from Resident Evil 1 to Resident Evil 5. With the latter game was hated by most of its fans since CAPCOM made it more like an action game and not survival horror. Now CAPCOM decided to bring the series back to its roots with Resident Evil Revelations. Built from the ground up to take advantage of the 3DS features, this game is without a doubt the best looking 3DS game to date. Amazing character designs, great graphics, lighting and its environments is what Resident Evil 5 should have been. After you have completed the story, you may want to enjoy the Raid mode where you can meet other players online and let's you battle with horde of zombies/enemies. There are many stages, characters, costumes, weapons and upgrades on the raid mode that you can choose from. Thus, this game has tons of replay value. And don't forget to try the Hell mode once you have finished the normal mode. This mode will bring fear to life.
Resident Evil: Revelations is one of the best 3DS titles to date! The graphics blew me away, and the game kept me coming back for more as multiplayer has to be unlocked through single player. This is better than Resident Evil 5, and it also brings back known characters like Jill and Chris. As the story progresses you are able to play as different characters that offer different game-play, from the more action type experience seen in Resident Evil 5, but also the more tight corridor suspense that makes you jump seen in the earlier games. Absolutely brilliant.
This game is just what you expect from Capcom; the graphics look great and the "survival-horror feel" is back, with there being times that make you jump, where you least expect. The controls are simple and it is easy to navigate, but I haven't played with the circle pad pro, so I'm not too sure how that feels yet. Bottom line though - this is a great game and a must buy for anyone who owns a 3DS or a fan of the Resident Evil series.
9.5/10 Revelations is better then RE5, not as good as RE4 but very close. I actually finished all RE games and can easily say this is one of my Favourites now. I also played with Circle Pad Pro which is an awesome piece of equipment, especially for people like me who have bigger hands. Replayabilty is very high as You will not only get NEW GAME + but also the fantastic RAID MODE that You can play SOLO or LOCAL/INTERNET co-op. Oh yes and it took me 9hrs to fisnih it. CAPCOM has put some real love into 3DS to which I'm very grateful. Resident Evil Revelations is a must own title for 3DS.
Resident Evil: Revelations is just excellent. I got the bundle, and it's just so beautiful. The graphics are crisp and stunning, and there's so much detail, and the story mode is lengthy. The Raid mode is great fun, and an awesome online component. This is definitely a game any 3DS user should be buying!
Resident Evil Revelations is kind of a reboot to the series. For those that are looking for a horror game then this game does have quite a lot of creepy moments that have made me jump quite a few times. The music/sounds is a perfect 10/10 it sure builds the atmosphere, the graphics as well is amazing. I have only played the game with a Circle Pad Pro and the controls were mostly good but it takes time to get used to. The game has a new mini-game that replaces the mercenaries mode from previous titles called Raid mode, there is no time limit and the objective is to go through each small part of an area eliminating all the enemies with plenty of characters to choose from. I was quite surprised with how good and scary I found this game due to it being on the 3DS and would recommend it to anyone looking for a action-horror game on the 3DS.
Resident Evil: Revelations is an action/survival-horror game containing out of this world graphics with intense game play never seen before on a handheld. If you haven't played any of the games from the franchise then this will be highly recommended for you. The Circle Pad Pro presents more desirability and gives you even more depth. This add on does come bundled with the game but works just as well without it. Not knowing what may confront you from around the corner definitely makes you leap out of your seats. The sounds definitely adds a fantastic sense of fear to the tense atmosphere along with the visuals, which look very professional and authentic. This game will positively be one of the best games you'll ever play.
Pre-ordered Resident Evil: Revelations with the Circle Pad Pro - and I'm glad I got as it makes it much easier to play and feels akin to a console game, like the 360 or PS3. But it is just as playable without the circle pad, just a tiny bit harder to aim. The circle pad feels good to hold and makes gaming on the 3DS at home easier - I can imagine the circle pad isn't the sort of thing you would want to carry around on the move though. Only negative after playing 33% the way through is the episodic nature of the levels, in some ways I miss the old RE 1 & 2 open world type approach, rather than relatively linear levels that lasts say an hour long - that said they are good in some ways as they are just long enough for hand-held gaming sessions and you can pick up at the next episode with a refresher video at the start. The graphics are amazing and really show what the 3DS is capable of. If you are a RE fan, or if you want fun FPS experience with awesome graphics and sound then is it the game for you. This is clearly the best 3DS title out there so far, and as RE games go it's a clear 8.5/10 for a franchise rating. I've rated it 5 stars because the graphics and sound coupled with raid mode and circle pad support make it, in my opinion, a must have 3DS title!
This Resident Evil game is awesome! It's a bit scarier than the others and I enjoyed playing it. It's quite addictive as I completed the game in 3 days and I'm now really looking forward to the release of Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City in March! Exciting stuff. I can't wait till they bring out another Resident Evil on 3DS either because this game was amazing!!!!!!!!
This new Resident Evil game is a return to form for the series, the 3D of the console really enhances the game (and the scares!), although it can get slightly annoying at times, due to the viewing angles of the 3D display.. The game is full of shocks that will make you jump, with a good plot and it plays really nicely with the new circle pad pro attachment (this hardware will enhance many future games and works great!). Unfortunately the dialogue is comical (mainly unintentionally) which lets the story down a bit. Overall a great game with plenty of longevity due to a whole new gameplay experience opening up after completing the main story! Buy the game bundle with the circle pad pro so you can have it ready for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid game coming out soon!
Put simply, one of the best Resident Evil games ever made. My biggest fear when buying is that it would be a poor spin-off game to make some easy money from the handheld market. How very wrong I was. Revelations is set between Res 4/5 and lets you play as both Chris & Jill along with other additional characters as partners. Atmosphere is what sets this game apart from recent RE games. The graphics, sound and whole feel of the game is just amazing. There is also a "Raid mode" to unlock as you progress through the campaign, letting you play missions quite similar to Res Evil Mercenaries, unlock weapons, items, outfits & level up your characters. Trust me, it is VERY addictive, and luckily not timed! Buy it!
Capcom did it! What all the fans wanted for years! A Resident Evil that's scary. Amazing visuals and the soundtrack is also brilliant causing shivers to run down your spine on more than one occassion. The handling is also great, especially with the circle pro pad, but on the other hand there's a lack of enemy variation and pretty linear levels. Also there's a little bit of backtracking. To cut a long story short, this game rocks, and everybody who owns a 3DS must have this game in their collection. And those who have been Resident Evil fans since the very beginning, who don't own a 3DS, have to get one right now, just to play this Resident Evil game. It's a real Resident Evil!
