Lego City: Undercover is the ingenious new open world action adventure game developed by Lego game veterans TT Fusion, and published by Warner Bros, released exclusively for the innovative Nintendo console the Wii U. This is the first Lego game title to not be based on a well known franchise such as Lego Batman, but instead has a completely unique storyline that anyone can enjoy.

This delightful and colourful sandbox-styled game revolves around our hero Chase McCain, an undercover cop that is out to stop the villainous Rex Fury and end his evil crime wave. You take on the role of McCain the police officer as you roam around the game world at will, either walking or driving, as you chase down various crooks, robbers, and villains. Follow missions and interact with civilians, as well as wear disguises such as a fire fighter, construction worker, and robber, each with their own special unique abilities that can help you solve puzzles, access new areas of the city, and complete missions.
Lego City: Undercover fully utilises the new and intuitive Wii U game controller, as the Game Pad has various features that enable you to catch crooks more easily. When driving or whilst in a high speed car chase gunning down some criminals, the Game Pad will show a map on the touch screen showing the direction that the villains are heading in, as well as a red dot marking their location in real time. As well as this, the player can also use the Game Pad as a Criminal Scanner, which will act as an x-ray to scan the environment around them searching for hidden suspects, which will glow red when you locate them.
This open world of Lego City is chock full of fun and mayhem, and focuses on the signature Lego gameplay of building and disassembling various objects in order to access other areas of the city. Take part in another humorous Lego adventure with the help of the innovative Wii U Game Pad, and bring Rex Fury to justice. (Cat Emerson)

Lego City: Undercover - Limited Edition with Chase McCain Minifigure is a slight venture away from Lego's recent licensed endeavors, and instead drops players right into a vibrant open world filled with exaggerated characters and tonnes of collectibles. Whilst Lego City doesn't bring anything new to the table, it offers a fantastic gaming experience, the likes of which only the Lego games can provide.
In my opinion, Lego City: Undercover - Limited Edition with Chase McCain Minifigure is the best Lego game so far. You get a big city to explore with lots of sidequest and things to unlock. It's a very funny and entertaining story, and has lovely characters, although they are just Lego mini-figures. Overall, it is very easy to complete the story, but afterwards the real challenge of conquering the city and unlocking everything begins. It will take some time getting 100% completion.
Although games for the Wii U are few and far between, Lego City: Undercover is surprisingly brilliant. Between its comedic characters and addictive gameplay, it's one of the first must-have games for the platform.
Lego City: Undercover - Limited Edition with Chase McCain Minifigure is a lot different than the usual Lego games, being mostly based in small area levels. This time around they have created an open world so you can just do what you like. There are no restrictions, making it a lot easier for younger children to play. The game is massive and will keep you entertained for ages, collecting the different costumes along the way. The only minor fault is there is no multi-player like any other of the recent Lego games.
This is the best game on the Wii-U by far, so far. I cant wait for future releases.
My son recently purchased Lego City: Undercover and he loves it. It has lots of missions to complete, with great humour and Lego in HD - what more could he ask for?
Lego City: Undercover is good, it's certainly as good as other Lego titles such as Star Wars and Batman, but it is a little bit easy. It is rated as 6 yrs+ and my 8 yr old is having no problems working his way through the chapters. Despite this, there is a little adult humour in the game - an early level contains a joke about a character from the well know prison film, The Shawshank Redemption for example. The textures and graphics are very good when connected to a large HD screen thanks to the Wii U's HDMI output. I'm very disappointed that it has no two player modes though. I understand that the Wii U's gamepad acts as a map and "Communicator" device in the main game, but they could have added a two player option where P1 uses the game pad and P2 a Wiimote and the big screen, like other titles such as Sonic Racing Transformed. Speaking of the gamepad, this has been used to bring some extra features to the game, though possibly could have included more. Overall; my 8 year old loves it, though it hasn't quite lived up to my expectations.
Very fun game. Great storyline. Quite easy as it tells you how to do most missions, but there's loads to do and find. Even after the story is complete there's loads of other tasks to complete and find. Would highly recommend for younger children and also for young adults too.
I bought this game for my "Wii" ones and as soon as they put it in, they could not "Lego" of it. To be honest, this is a great game for young and old. Really little ones might struggle with some points but hey, that's what older siblings and parents are for. Good use of the Wii U's control pad for the map and the "scanning" mode. This game is not just for Kids. I personally love Lego games and since they decided to add voices to the characters after Lego batman 2, it just make the jokes and in-game play much better, especially if your little ones cant read all that well. Please remember that this game is tongue in cheek and it does a good job trying to set out to be Die hard or GTA Lego and I feel it's the best Lego game out so far. Open world is great and cannot wait for any DLC for the game. Just a shame it's not out on other platforms BUT I do love the little Chase McCain Lego figure in the limited edition set.
