The skating feels a lot smoother to the first game, it's great to have girl skaters this time, the hall of meat is fun, the locations are pretty too, the challenges are good not too hard and not to easy, it's good to create your own team and to have your own logo pasted everywhere, the death races are bit easier which is good and it's good you can get off your board as well, it's a really cool game.
Skate 3 is a very good game, with only minor flaws. Firstly, the positive things about the game include the visuals, the size of gameplay, the easy access to missions (saving you loads of time wandering around) and the re-playability of it. You can go back to all the missions whenever you like to attempt at getting a better score which, personally, is something I love doing. Now the nagging things about it...first off, the trick controls can get a little annoying at times as some tricks have very similar combos. Secondly, the little map in the corner of the screen is a little pointless because it's not an easy map to follow and you've got the option to just go to the pause menu and 'transport' yourself to a certain place. Thirdly, the voice acting is a little dull but this is just being picky I guess. All-in-all, Skate 3 is a great game with great re-playability. I would recommend to anyone who likes skateboarding, but I would recommend it to anyone to be honest because it's a lot of fun.
Skate 3 is a fun game and is a big step up from the previous titles with being able to run around without the board, doing plenty of old-school tricks and such things. The character creation is still a little bit limited and the user interface could be improved. It is really fun though, and I recommend it to anyone remotely interested in skateboarding! It is a little bit silly but still the best option out there when it comes to skateboarding games!
I could just use one word to describe this brilliant game and that word is WOW but I couldn't help notice that it would be a huge understatement to the game. The game is so fun that I spent hours on it the first day I go it. Even if you haven't played skate 3's predecessors there is a skate school that teaches you everything you need to know. Buy it now and trust me, you will not regret
This third entry in EA's skate series is the most polished and refined game yet. Going against the trickfest extravaganza the Tony Hawk series has been renowned for promoting, skate. delivers a more authentic skating experience. The controls are realistic and you are rewarded for style rather than substance. This is done via the 'flick-it'-system, skate's patented gameplay mechanic that allows the player to control the skater with the right analogue stick in true one-to-one fashion. Flicking up results in an ollie, a 45-degree upwards flick is a pop-shuv-it and so on. It's a blast of fresh air if you've played Tony Hawk games before and are not sure whether it's latest instalments can deliver a good experience. Aside from controls Skate 3's gameplay is similar to other skating games: you compete in contests, pull of specific tricks and try to gain reputation as you go along. Skate 3 is made unique by it's great story, focussing on you putting together a skating team and allowing you to switch between team members. It all works out quite well and gives a great sense of variety to the game. I can highly recommend Skate 3 to everyone who enjoys sports games or is looking for a great, authentic experience.
Hmmm... What can you say about "Skate 3"? Well, let me tell you a thing or two about this game. The first thing that comes to your mind when you start playing this game is that good feeling saying to you "Hell yeah mate! You done well buying me since I'm alot of fun!". That feeling, is quite right. This game is not only fun, it's also super creative and enjoyable to play regardless what your age, or tastes in videogames are. With that said, let's move on to the "good stuff". The challenges are varied and cater to players of different abilities, you have more tricks in your repertoire, and longevity comes courtesy of robust park creation tools and impressive online features, such as battles. Now let's move along to the "bad stuff". There are some problems mostly caused by the unpredictable AI of pedestrians and other skaters, as well as the inconsistent frame rate, but goofy or regular, there's plenty of fun to be found in the new, skater-friendly city of Port Carverton. I give this game a rate of 5/5 because this is a game I am proud to own, and I have the best time playing it.
