Medal of Honor

Fantastic game! Really good storyline, with shed loads of action. Exactly what this type of game should be. I have noticed it was made by same people who worked on Battlefield 3 as well, so maybe not such a surprise being such a good quality. I definitely recommend getting it, is a LOT of fun, & I actually love that the whole theme of the game is set in Afghan, rather than other games where you're all over the world & can lose the continuity.

Medal of Honor

I bough Medal of Honor from Zavvi and it's a great game. It's very similar to Battlefield, but it's cheaper and more fun. It's an excellent game that transports you through time quickly, and it's perfect for teenage boys, and all of the shooting game lovers.

MOH: Review

"Kick that s#@t in Deuce" The command every man wants to hear when standing in front of a door that blocks your path. Medal of Honor "The Reboot" is certainly what it sets out to be, an 'authentic' shooter, its not a sim, but it aims to take you to the gritty battlefields in the current day conflict that is Afghanistan. I for one was really looking forward to it and unfortunately its a very mixed bag. You play the majority of the game as Tier 1 operators, the best of the best military operators working inside enemy territory out numbered with only your skills etc etc... then later you hit the dusty hills in the boots of a Army Ranger, the whole time being bombarded with great sound effects, radio chatter and acronyms ripped straight from the source material. Right, the first and most important thing in a FPS, the shooting is solid, in fact the opening sequence I squeezed off a few rounds from my M4 and thought, that sounds just right. An M4 is one of the few assault rifles I have actually fired regularly and the sound designers got it spot on. I also like the ability to change from full auto to semi automatic firing if you so desire, once again full-filling the "realistic itch" I like in shooters. The game has a slide to cover mechanic and lean mechanic which I used once, thought that it was cool and never used it again, even when playing on hard (which is not hard enough). All your time is spent in the dusty buildings and mountains which characterized the early battles of Afghanistan, but the developers did well do give you a good mix of locales and gameplay to keep the painfully short campaign fresh. Everything from hitting people over 1000 yards away with a sniper rifle to being the gunner in an Apache chopper or riding an ATV. Graphically it has some very high points and real low points. In spots the game has some of the best looking, most intense battles I have played in a while, then you see a truck blow up or some texture pop-in and you are ripped out of the situation, thinking, damn that was half-assed. Funnily I think the game looks better the further in you get into it as does the mission quality. The lack of camera control in cut scenes left me feeling "trapped" in the moment, especially when compared to that epic opening sequence to CoD4 which was brilliant. I put in a good tens hours last week and found it to be very enjoyable. It has some serious faults such as bloody camping snipers who you can never get a fix on due to no kill cam and some map choke points lead to stale mates. However the gameplay is solid and very tactical, you have to rush cover to cover to survive and class load is imperative depending on the map. It has struck this line between Battlefield and COD. You must work as a team to progress the front line so you can spawn closer to the objective when attacking, but once spawned your only mission is to attack, there are no support roles. I would say it has more "brains" that a COD match but not the team element of BF. Kills net you points which rank you up but also can be spent on Offensive and Defensive actions, such as a mortar strike or a full team ammo reload, these points also go towards your team total. An example is someone calls they have a mortar strike available, so someone sets off a UAV ping to ID the enemy, then a mortar strike can be sent in, works really well (if people communicate). The map based on "Helmend Valley" looks amazing in fact the MP shows up the campaign for graphics, DICE know how to make an engine. My final thoughts are, a 5 maybe 6 hour campaign is criminal if there is nothing else to fluff up the pillow. That being said, as soon as I finished the first play through of the Campaign, I started again without hesitation. I would advise waiting for a bargain bin buy or Rent it for a night, because there are better games and overall packages out there, however Medal of Honor does one important thing very well for us military shooter fans, its believable.

OK

Pros: Graphics - Liked the graphics, i.e. in Belly of the Beast at the start in the desert where it'sn so dusty you can barely see the guys shooting at you. the glint of the sun and how that impacts you're shooting. Weapons - the feel of the weapons is just right. Missions: although there are not enough of them, what was there was fun. particularly liked belly of the beast and breaking bagram Cons: Freedom - doesn't feel like it gives you much of an option to take alternate approaches for an attack, i normally like fairly linear games but this is just too linear/scripted. Length - the SP campaign is just too short, if they developed this in two separate teams (1 for SP, 1 for MP) then they could've put a bit more effort into making the SP a little longer if they only had to concentrate on that one thing.

reviews of game all wrong

I played this game at my friends house on his new Xbox 360 slim an my first impression of it was the graphics are pretty awesome, the first mission I played was me sniping up on a mountain which showed off the graphics very well secondly wow the sounds are amazing in this game. I would definitely recommend surround sound the sounds of the explosions an gunshots feel so realistic, nothing compares to the sounds on this game. also this game is a realistic one- thank god finally one shot sniper kills some games are some bad for this it’s not realistic an it’s just very frustrating although this game has allot of positives the are some bad negatives one being guns selection during the campaign you have a variety of weapons you use this is good but when you go online there are very limited selection an its annoying as you really get into unlocking new attachments and weapons but you realize there aren’t that many to unlock- to be fair there is a good selection of attachments but please put more weapons in next time. And the other major negative is that it’s a very good game so please make it longer in terms of campaign Recommended buy

MOH Rocks

Hi This is not a review of the actual final game. I downloaded the BETA for xbox and was impressed straight away by the improvements in graphics. The gameplay and action are completely fluid. Yes it has been made by the same people as BBC2 but it is a completely different game. The action is centred around actual operations that have taken place in Afghanistan. Personally I still think that Opfor should have stayed named as the Taliban. You can't call the Japanese and Germans by different names and no-one complains about those types of games. MOH features large multiplayer maps where you need to talk to whole team instaed of operation in individual groups. This all adds to the durability and excitement of the game. This is a real FPS where you don't play with bow & arrows and remote control cars!
