Will someone get this big walking carpet out of my way?
This is a nice addition to the 6 inch Black Series range, but as with many others in the series, there are a few problems that prevent it from being truly great. This is a big, substantial figure, standing around 7 inches tall. The sculpt is generally good and Hasbro have done a nice job of the "fur", neatly concealing many of the jointed areas to retain Chewie's look. However, this does cause a few problems with articulation. It's almost impossible to get Chewie to hold his Bowcaster with two hands, which is a shame as that prevents you putting him in many of his on-screen poses. Speaking of his Bowcaster, I wish Hasbro had supplied some sort of strap to enable it to be slung over his shoulder, but it's a nice accessory nevertheless. His bandoleer is nicely done too, though it does tend to sit away from his leg a little bit. Paint applications are OK, though the detailing can vary greatly from figure to figure. You may find the one you receive looks a bit cross-eyed (Hasbro's shoddy quality control also strikes again!). This figure does have flaws, but looks great standing next to the classic Han Solo figure.
