Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

Visually a great game and a good warm up for when phantom pain comes out. It is a bit short you can finish the game in a few hows depending on your play style and can be repetitive at times. So as long as you don't mind that then i recommend getting it as it will help you understand some things in phantom pain

Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes

Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes is far too short for the price. You have two missions which takes half an hour to complete. There are some sidemissions Peacewalker like, which are also really short. The gameplay is fine as usuall. You can fight, sneak or be a silent assassin. One feature I don't like is the new slowmotion when you are seen. This help isn't needed in my opinion. The grafics are awesome, it's a real next generation game. The effects, the textures, the light everything looks really nice. So it's a 5/10 because it's far too short and the MGS feeling isn't enough. Just a game for hardcorefans who can't wait for Phantom Pain.

Hardcore Fans only

Casual players will just think this is a big glorified demo and it is really, but if you've been playing the metal gear games since metal gear solid on the ps1 like I have its a must buy!

Metal gear solid:ground zeros

Despite the relatively short completion time this is still a game you want to play. Great graphics and sound, good blend of stealth and action. It will certainly wet peoples apatite for the phantom pain.

Short and Sweet

It's difficult to review this game because of the oddity it is. Firstly I will talk about the core mechanics. Graphically this is pretty strong, guards wear ponchos due to the rain which react in a human way, buildings are detailed and facial animations are great. What isn't great however is the voice acting. Lines are poorly written and poorly read but the cut scenes (there are quite a few, not as long as MGS4 but still longer than the average game) still feel great. Sneaking around feels brilliant and honestly, I feel this game has the best stealth mechanics currently on the market, I never felt cheated if I was spotted and the spotting distance and reactions of enemies are consistent. Game length. This is a tough one, most people would say this game is far too short and the truth is the main campaign is. It can be completed in under ten minutes if you want to run through it and know where to go although I enjoyed taking my time and chasing guards, taking two hours to complete it. Only this mission is canon with the game but there is five other missions which do extend game length and are fun to play, each a little varied to the main mission but in the same area. Story, if you played Peace Walker you will take more from this game than most as it focuses on characters from that game. Unfortunately because the game is so short you can't really become attached to any characters and any scene demanding sympathy falls flat. The game does set up the events of the following game which is reportedley much larger. Overall, I would recommend this game due to the cheap price tag and great stealth mechanics

Great for what it is

Mgs:v ground zeroes is brilliant. If you take your time and explore the main mission and the surrounding area, the first time took me 4hours (i have completed all metal gears) I was a little disappointed by the graphics from what i saw with the e3 mgsv trailer which looked amazing, much better than anything i saw in this. Once the main mission is complete you can take a variety of side quests. If you know your way around they don't take too long but if you want to do it without being spotted thats another matter. Then you have to find new routes and hidden weapons and the like and thats only on normal difficulty, once complete you unlock hard mode an things like different skins like a white combat suit in raidens mission instead of black. Audio wise there isn't much here next to no snake dialogue (i want David hayter back -_-) other than a few audio cassettes found hidden throughout the map or on prisoners. The music is ok but not as good as past games. Overall the average person would get maybe 5 hours out of this but if your a metal gear or hitman fan even you ll be meticulous in trying to find all the hidden content and never get spotted Graphics: 7.5 gameplay: 10 enemy ai: 8 audio: 5 overall: 7.5 out of 10

Tech demo

It's essentially an extended demo of the new MGS layout for The Phantom Pain later this year. Loads of replayability for Solid Snake / Big Boss fans, but one for MGS fans only since there's not really enough substance to warrant calling this a standalone game. 7/10
