"Born To Die" is the eagerly anticipated debut studio album by the American singer Lana Del Rey, who became practically an overnight sensation when she signed to Interscope records.

The album is filled with contemporary indie music, that plays upon the musical styles featured throughout the early and mid 1900s, in both melody and lyrical content. This is blended effectively with Lana Del Rey's own personal, signature style and sound, giving the classic side of the music new direction, and given a modern twist.

The record is preceded by the lead singles "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans", two piano-based songs, the melodies of which add beauty and depth to the classical sound of the instrument. This is combined with Del Rey's very distinctive singing voice, where every utterance oozes sex appeal and classic glamour, especially as the songs are slow, and sultry.

I bought this for my boyfriend because i love the album so much and hoped he too would become a fan. Im glad to say he has. I can honestly say Lana del ray is a fantastic singer and I can't see me getting bored of her album anytime soon.
