Worth the upgrade to 4K
I was a bit hesitant about buying Hacksaw Ridge on 4K as I already owned it on Blu-Ray - I'm happy to say the 4K disc is well worth the upgrade. With the HDR everything looks more solid, with more realistic colour and gradations of light & dark. I only have an old, middle-of-the-range AV amplifier but the sound is better, too - Hugo Weaving's voice was muffled before but I could hear him clearly on this disc! Once again very happy with Zavvi's price and service.

A more realistic experience
I was a bit hesitant about buying Hacksaw Ridge on 4K as I already owned it on Blu-Ray - I'm happy to say the 4K disc is well worth the upgrade. Much as I liked the film, I always thought it looked a bit 'fake' on Blu-Ray - for instance the Virginia mountains of Desmond Doss's home just look a lot more real in this 4K version. The very dark sequence where Desmond and Smitty take cover overnight in a shell hole seems to have increased detail and definition. Likewise the battle scenes look more dramatic and the gun muzzle flashes, which I always thought looked like digital effects before, seem like actual gunfire here. Everything looks more solid, with more realistic colour and gradations of light & dark. I only have an old, middle-of-the-range AV amplifier but the sound is a lot better, too - Hugo Weaving's voice was muffled before but I could hear him clearly on this disc! Once again very happy with Zavvi's price and service.
