Anyone who was a film fan during the 90s knows how much of a gem this film is! John Woo’s first Hollywood film, being supervised by the awesome Sam ‘evil dead’ Raimi(as it was a secret that Raimi was helping overlook the movie’s production due to Universal being nervous as Woo didn’t speak much English and a Hollywood first timer. The most memorable shot from this film, the metal arrow flying through the air, is a blatant Sam Raimi shot). Also fans of Van Damme all no doubt agree that this is one of the muscles from Brussels best films, not only for the awesome action pieces but also the high production values on display. Then you also have the mighty Lance Henriksen AND Arnold ‘The Mummy’ Vosloo chewing up the scenery of every moment they’re on screen. The film is a benchmark in action cinema! I’m so happy to see it get this beautiful release for its 30th anniversary! The steelbook is beautifully glossed and embossed, aswell as like many other recent releases you get production cards, poster and a nice little production booklet with some very nice never before seen stills. Unfortunately we are STILL waiting on the very FIRST UNCUT EDIT of the film to be released 😞 As you may or may not be aware, but even tho this film has been sold since original VHS release as a ‘Full uncut version’ it is in fact NOT the FULL uncut version. The film reportedly has around 20 minutes of footage STILL missing from its original version submitted to the MPAA. Some of the footage is extra character development but MOST of it is apparently extra violence, hence it was deemed TOO violent and had to be cut down even to get an R rating. One of the scenes that is reportedly extra is the infamous ‘ear’ scene which I’m sure you all know what I’m referring to. Anyway fans of Van Damme, John woo and nice steelbooks rejoice! This is a fantastic film that has received a fantastic limited edition release! Buy now before you have to pay double for it on eBay! Lol until the next geeky rant, take care film buffs! 

Possibly the ultimate Van Damme movie. If you like fast, hard action films this is definitely for you. Just suspend your scepticism about some of the action scenes and enjoy the pure spectacle. Oh, and it's a John Woo film, so lots of white doves!

Although I am a big Van Damme fan I do believe Hard Target to be one of his best films. Great action sequences and visuals and I’m a big fan of the soundtrack too. Looks clear in 4K and enjoyable to watch. Overall a great steel book in a nice collectors box set.

I remember watching this movie as a kid and loving all the slow motion action scenes from john woo and being a van damme fan too was a bonus. The film has some great action scenes and amazing fights and a memorable scene when van damme knocks out a rattle snake I hope this Steelbook (As good as it looks) Also comes with the full uncut version with all fight scenes restored to their former glory. Love the Steelbook look as zavvi have not tried to change the look of the Steelbook from the original art Great 90's action movie check it out if you haven't seen it you won't be dissapointed
