Loved the film. Really like the art of this steelbook. This alternate poster of Neo & Trinity is slick looking and adding the code in the background makes it look even better. Nicer than the Amazon exclusive that is only using the Red & Blue pill teaser poster. Pre-oredered
I really enjoyed this film, but if you're looking for John Wick 4 or a Matrix 1 remake, this isn't it. Don't expect too many kung-fu fights or big action set pieces. This film is more of a personal journey that speaks to some, but as obvious by some extremely negative reviews, doesn't speak to everyone. As for the steelbook design, it's perfect and I only wish that the other films would have received such beautiful steelbooks to match.
Already had this on Blu-ray but when the 4k steelbook was offered at a discounted price it was a must have and whether you like the matrix franchise or not you have to agree that the picture and Dolby atmos sound is always reference quality and a must have for all collector or not.
The fourth film in the iconic Matrix movie franchise and the sequel to Matrix Revolutions. If you love the film series, this isn't the best of them but a significant watch all the same. As a steelbook collector, I simply had to add this to my collection. The front of the casing depicts Keanu Reaves in the role as Neo, now repaired and only aged around 20 years from the previous Revolutions movie although Resurrections has advanced 60 years in time. Brilliant film and a must for steelbook collectors alike. Thank you Warner Bros!!!
As a fan of the original trilogy (yes, all three), I was looking forward to revisiting the matrix universe. While it was nice to see Keanu & Carrie-Anne again in their respective roles the film itself is sorely lacking. The meta aspect at the start was an interesting idea but I felt it was wasted, the actual story of the movie is barely anything. The look, feel and action of the movie is where it really fails, it doesn’t look like a film that belongs next to the original three with the cinematography and colour palette being fairly bland the actions sequences are awful, poorly choreographed & messy camera work, with none of the martial arts excellence of the previous films. The steelbook is nice though not spectacular. Overall this was a pretty disappointing film, I really hope they leave the franchise alone or if anything do another Animatrix.
Really good item with a fantastic price and delivered quickly and safely
My word of advice - don't listen to anyone who'll curse and scold this new Matrix part. Resurrection is a huge and triumphant improvement over last 2 weaker sequels, and this new one delivers both great fun as well as excellent action-packed sci-fi thriller. With all the impressive CGI and excellent casting, perfect pacing, huge irony, absolutely tasteful elements of modern coffee / hipster culture, all together Matrix brings us a superb fourth part that both entertains and makes you ponder a lot. All the puzzle pieces are in perfect places here - tempo, visuals, sound, stunts, great jokes at the expense of Keanu and Carrie Ann. Reeves are Moss are impeccable here, as well Neil Patrick Harris who is excellent as The Analyst. The younger cast is a warm welcome, too, as they deliver their parts with gusto and fervor. What also adds a certain flavor to the part is a gorgeous mix of older scenes and new reality. New Agent Smith is a dear darling, especially with his sarcastic remarks and excellent humor at his own expense. I will not disclose the necessary plot details but wanna say, this film is a real must-see, due to its smart plot and endearing mixture of old and new, with all these 20 years at our belt, it is so touching and moving to see our old heroes being brisk and energetic again, strong and superb, smart and sincere. Great effort, worth watching and yes, big Yes to the montage - 2 hours and a half fly like one minute, which is yet another example of a good movie. Hurrah to The Wachowskis, Keanu, Carrie Ann and all the cast of dozens. Also pay close attention to the soundtrack, Wake Up being a huge hit at the very end. And sure, the film is so beautifully shot, with all the gorgeous views and clever editing, that it leaves no time and space to waste any millisecond. Nope, no minute is wasted here, the whole movie is a feast for eyes and a great food for thought. Highly recommended. Final Verdict: Huge Improvement Over 2nd and 3rd Parts.
Design could have been a but busier as a lot of Zavvi's steelbook can be equally plain, but overall I like it and I liked the movie very much despite its divisive reception. Think a lot of audiences didn't realise it's a satire of modern action films so it was intentionally bad with the constant shockwaves and vibrant colours, but that take and the story itself made for something genuinely original, just as Merv complains about in the film itself. That's all I tend to want from a film these days - a unique experience, which this film provides, as well as being entertaining. 4 stars from me.
I went out to dinner with Keanu Reeves and he was eating soup with a fork. He kept insisting there was no spoon!
This film is marmite. Some people hate it, some love it. I really enjoyed it in the cinema tbh. The 4k disc and blu ray disc here are exception quality. If you're wanting to see what your 4k player and tv can do then this is your disc. The cover art on this steelbook is great too. A lot better than the one over at amazon. Only downside is it doesn't (and nor do any others I've see online) match the steelbooks for the earlier films, though i see theyre now releasing all 4 in one steelbook collection so that's an option for you. Would definitely recommend for any matrix fans out there who want to compelte their collection.
