Derek Vinyard is dangerous, a coiled fury of hate who leads a neo-Nazi gang. But time and events start to change him. He reassesses his ways while doing time for manslaughter and emerges from prison eager to keep his younger brother (Edward Furlong) from falling victim to the thug cycle of violence and payback. It may be too late.
Weaving in and out of events past and present in Derek's life, American History X is revealing in its look at white-supremacist gangs and impassioned in its message that hatred and bigotry can be unlearned. Edward Norton (Fight Club, Pride and Glory) portrays Derek, giving a powerful, persuasive, Oscar®-nominated* performance.

ONE OF THE MOST:Oscar worthy film ever made. Film wise, Edward Norton, Edward Furlong. Are amazing & this is a steelbook that has to be in every collection!. Just brilliant ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆ out of five!!!
You only have to look at the director who made this film to know the real reason behind this film, the prison scenes sums it up completely
'American History X' is a brilliant and upsetting story of racial hatred taken to extreme and the redemption of the perpetrator. Edward Norton's lead performance should have won at all the awards as his portrayal of a racist is both horrifying and quite superb when he realises finally what he is doing is wrong. So a moral and upsetting tale of gang violence and racial hatred with multi-faceted performances by Norton, Avery Brooks is brilliant as his teacher, and so is Edward Furlong as the brother going the same, wrong initial direction through peer pressure. What a film, picture looks brilliant on blu Ray and sound is detailed with the music and sound effects particularly brilliant. Steelbook is a glossy finish but nicely done. Recommended
