Beauty is in the name of the title and the format

One of the best looking steelbooks from Disney I own, great looking esp with its lenticular cover, to nice to open if i’m Honest I buy most steelbooks to keep and don’t open it’s a great collectors item and would recommend it to anyone The device received when I had an initial problem with the delivery of the item was second to none and was resolved instantly by Zavvi , 10/10 all round thanks Zavvi for another great steel

Stunning piece of art.

I love it. this is by far the best Disney movie made, and when i got the chance to order this, Lenticular edition steelbook, i didn't hesitate a minute. The quality of the steelbook is amazing, Sadly just, it didn't support swedish subtitle, but i had the movie in blu-ray anyway so just swapped the disc and its all good :) 10/10 would buy it again.

keep up the lenticular

Another amazing lenticular steelbook. Beauty and the Beast has very colorful artwork and it's very nice being lenticular instead of just being embossed because seen as it has 2D and 3D discs it makes sense to have the cover either 2D removing the magnet to have a very nice bright picture or 3D placing the magnet on the cover giving it a 3D look. Hopefully Zavvi will continue the lenticular Disney line because I plan on getting them all. Either Hercules, Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas next please.

Flawed but Good Steelbook

If you’re considering picking up a limited edition steelbook rather than a regular blu-ray release of Beauty and the Beast, then I suspect you already know and love the film. Therefore I’ll focus my review on the edition itself, rather than make somewhat redundant statements about how great the film is. As per the title, it is a nice but flawed steelbook. The positives are the front and rear artwork, both gorgeous. I’ve seen negative comments towards the inside only having artwork on one side (as you can see in the product photo), but it doesn’t bother me as the disc covers the other side almost permanently. The negatives are twofold: for one, the title on the spine is tiny, taking up just a fraction of the book’s spine. Now, I am grateful that there is a title there at all, given Disney’s track record with title-less spines, but it’s hard to read this on a shelf unless you’re inches from it. The other negative is the lenticular element. There is a serious alignment issue here - the image on the magnet is supposed to align to the artwork on the rest of the cover. So, for example, Lumière is featured on the magnet but the flame from his head extends beyond the magnet onto the rest of the cover. But if you line those up correctly, it throws alignments throughout the rest of the image into disarray. This isn’t the case with my copies of The Lion King and Snow White, which are flawless in the alignment between the magnet and cover. Overall I’m happy with the purchase, because it was a good opportunity to pick up an out of print release, and I hope these are successful enough for Disney and Zavvi to continue the line. If you’re not too bothered about the lenticular aspect of the release, like I’m not, then it’s a good purchase. If the lenticular aspect is the reason for your purchase, then proceed with caution (accepting that mine may have just been a bad copy).
