a welcome return to explosive action for Mel Gibson who sports moustache and beard at the beginning of the movie and lives in a decrepit caravan somewhere in the Mexican desert.His daughter kills her drug dealing kingpin boyfriend and has to go on the run and who can she find respite with? yes her estranged dad.However he treasures his daughter enough to want to help her and exterminate the druggies close on her heels.This leads us into a series of excellent action pieces on motorbikes and explosive encounters before the final scenes which are sad-i''leave you to watch these and you'll see what I mean! The bluray is excellent quality as you would expect with desert scenes sharp and detailed as also the many action sequences.Sound is clear and crisp all in all an excellent effort by Mel for his many fans and I'm glad he has not deserted his Lethal Weapon and Edge Of Darkness days for the romantic movies What Women Want. Essentially he is an action man and as the stars age it is sometimes not easy for them to cope with prolonged physical effort as they used to be able to do.Anyway I would recommend the movie to all action movie fans out there-NOT FIVE STARS BUT TEN!
