After almost a decade away from the big screen, veteran film director Walter Hill (The Warriors, 48Hrs) is back at the helm with the action thriller.

Legendary movie star Sylvester Stallone plays Jimmy Bobo, a jaded hit man who reluctantly forms an alliance with a cop in order to exact revenge on the mercenary who murdered their respective partners.

Full of non-stop explosive action, thrilling fight scenes and classic one-liners, Bullet to the head is based on Alexis Nolent's graphic novel of the same name. The action packed cast includes Jason Momoa (Conan The Barbarian, Game of Thrones), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (The Bourne Identity), Sung Kang (Fast and Furious 5) and Christian Slater (True Romance).

Stallone bites the bullet

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

Sylvester Stallone, complete with tattoos, steps into the shoes of Jimmy Bobo, an assassin for hire. During his most recent hit, Bobo fails to kill a witness to his crime and is double-crossed by his employers. His employers send in another hit-man who kills Bobo's partner and he narrowly escapes. He forms an uneasy partnership with a cop (Sung Kang) and they both embark on a revenge trip but things take a turn for the worst when Bobo's daughter is kidnapped. Add into the mix Jason Momoa ('Conan the Barbarian') and Christian Slater ('True Romance') and you get a high octane action picture complete with Stallone's gravelly voice narrating the story. Very enjoyable, especially when you see the Bobo character's wrap sheet and it's a photo diary of Stallone's early years. 3/5 overall. Better than Arnie's 'Last Stand' but on par with the new 'Die Hard' with Bruce Willis.
