Classic 80’s comedy from John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, Uncle Buck) starring Matthew Broderick. Ferris Bueller (Broderick) is determined to have a day off school and doesn’t care what his principle has to say about it. So he convinces his best friend and his girlfriend to take the day off with him, enjoy the freedom and head into downtown Chicago. Hilarious comedy from the Brat Pack era. Not to be missed!

This is an absolute joy of a film. I have now owned it in three formats (VHS, DVD and Blu-ray). Despite the jump in picture quality, it's the film itself that stands out. Great characters, fun story and well executed by Hughes. For me this is one of his best comedies. There are plenty enough tricky situations to keep the film moving along nicely, punctuated by nice counter characters of the headmaster and Ferris's sister. If you have never seen this film you are in for a treat. Grab a bottle of fizzy pop and your favourite film snack, settle back and enjoy a classic.
I first watched this a few Easters ago and I fell in love. I don't know why it took me so long to watch this but it's a funny down to earth movie with a big heart.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is an excellent film!
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my favourite movies of the 1980's and after watching it I cannot believe how well it has stood the test of time! The phones may be gigantic and the computers archaic but it's sheer comedic brilliance that make it, in my opinion one of the best comedy films of all time!
