Finding a girl when you're a nerdy science geek can be hard. But what happens if that special someone dies in a bizarre gardening accident and it's all your fault?
Meet Jeffrey Franken. He's just killed the love of his life and now he's going to rebuild her... From the body parts of the dead streetwalkers who exploded when he introduced them to a lethal new drug - Supercrack! Little does he know that a good recipe requires the correct ingredients. Jeffrey isn't putting his life back together; he's building... a Frankenhooker!
From the twisted imagination of Frank Henenlotter (Basketcase) and starring James Lorinz (Street Trash), comes a movie that pays a loving tribute to the worst excesses of the American Grindhouse.

Disjointed film (pun intemded)
This is an odd film to be sure, but worth a watch, including the special features. I think the end product is pretty much exactly what the filmmakers set out to do.

Suprisingly Fun
I'm actually really suprised how much fun I had with this. James Lorinz delivers a great performance as he portrays both the "aw schucks" nerdy side and the unhinged crazy side of Jefferey Franken perfectly for what the movie is going for. On top of that we have pleanty of whacky moments throughout that deliver a few genuine laugh out loud moments. Theres a ton of eye candy, which leads to titular Frankenhooker; Patty Mullen. She does a good job playing the multiple personalities of the women she was made from and is just fun to watch; the make up effects on her were cool too and some of the effects throughout are great, but some do look cheap and are very noticeble but it doesn't detract from the fun had with this movie. All in all Frankenhooker is a blast to watch and is a fun love letter not only to the obvious; Frankenstein, Reanimator, but also to the sleazy movies of the 80s so if that sounds like a good time definately check this out.

Arrow delivers a great edition.
Personally I have 2 editions of Frankenhooker on Blu-ray Arrow films uk and Synapse usa, so it is easy to compare the two. The master Synapse is be a little bit more PQ compared to blu-ray Arrow films , but the colors are really better on Arrow edition. The bonus edition Arrow easily won every vote , really a impressive quantity of the bonus and they are really interesting. All the casting in the bonus , Frank Henenlotter, star James Lorinz, Patty Mullen (wanna date ?) , Jennifer Delora (funny girl ^^) and Gabe Bartalos for the specials effects ! Royal treatment for this arrow edition . I think a 2-disc edition would have been probably better result for this edition with the film on BD-50 and the bonus on a other Bd-25 , but arrow decided to use one BD-50. Recommended High for the fans to Frank Henenlotter and old movies fun & gore.
