The last man on earth is not alone. Will Smith plays that lone survivor in I Am Legend, the action epic, fusing heart-pounding excitement with a mind-blowing vision of a desolated Manhattan. Somehow immune to an unstoppable, incurable virus, military virologist Robert Neville (Smith) is now the last human survivor in New York City and maybe the world. Mutant plague victims lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find an antidote using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time.

A lovely looking steelbook and a brilliant addition to my collection especially for such a low price
I love the steelbook they made for this movie, with it's matte finish and pure white and gold colouring. It will look great with my steelbook collection and it came in pristine condition. I love this movie! Will Smith really came back with a bang in this and his acting really shone...as the last man alive living in New York, eagerly trying to create a cure for it's infected inhabitants is a fantastic story. The tone of the movie is brilliant, a dark and ominous feel as he walks the deserted streets of New York City with his only companion and friend, his dog Sam.The relationship between himself and Sam is humorous, compelling and very touching. All of this builds up to a great plot filled with action and suspense and will leave you wanting more. Although I do knit-pick with the lack of quality CGI effects for the infected, it does take a little realism out of the movie when you see Will Smiths character interact with them. But that is only a small fraction of negativity compared to all the greatness this movie offers. A big thumbs up!
I always wanted the alternate ending version of this film, and was rather chuffed when zavvi put this up, lovely minimal steelbook art, full featured disc, what's not to like!
This is a movie about a post apocalyptic world with zombie like vampires left over in the ruins, and Will Smith as virologist Dr. Robert Neville, and his dog Sam. I really enjoyed this film for the most part, there were only a few problems a I could see. I'll get to them in a minute. Smith plays a military doctor trying to reverse the infection that caused the population to turn into these muscular vamps. Kept company by his trustee dog Sam, Smith ventures further into the city-scape looking for a cure, and sampling it on the vamps back in his palatial house when everything outside it is laid to waste. Hmmm? Tension and action are good, the C.G.I. looks brilliant, the ony thing that lets it down is Smith's attempts at emotion. He is not believable as the character, and his attempts at emotion look forced. Also, the movie is not very long at all. As the credits started to roll I was filled with disappointment, not for the lack of enjoyment, but for the lack of mileage in the movie, it was just starting to get going! I know it's based on a book, so it can't deviate from that much; but damn, this film had so much potential to be at least 2 1/2 hours long. Hope he does a sequel.
Awesome film with awesome art work on the steelbook
Top film. Great quality steel for my collection
I Am Legend is one of my favourite Will Smith films, the only problem that I have with it is that it wasn't as long as I would have liked it to be. The premise is that Will plays Doctor Robert Neville, who is trying to find a cure for the rampant zombie like state that a new cure for cancer has caused. This is not a humorous Smith performance, this is Smith in his more serious acting mode. His action acting is generally good but his emotive acting doesn't quite meet the grade. However, this is a fantastic film to watch where Smith branches out into what could be called a modern reality horror as the world struggles to combat the spread of disease. There are some good scenes with Smith and his dog as they rely on each other's strengths to deal with their own weaknesses, and form a tight relationship and dependence as they fight for survival against the nocturnal zombie race. I felt this was a refreshing twist on the zombie films of late, and a twist that separates it from the usual brain-craving-zombies, and aimless staggering. In this film the zombies are intelligent and fast. Really worth watching for both apocalyptic horror fans, and zombie fans, and Will Smith fans of course.
I Am Legend - Steelbook Edition is a great movie, with amazing service.
What a film! It's similar to zombie films in the way that he starts losing his mind, fighting to survive. Will Smith is just an amazing actor. A great collection to add to my steelbooks!
I Am Legend - Steelbook Edition is awesome and the steelbook looks nice. It's a must have for collectors.
