L.A. Confidential is a truly great movie. Kim Basinger, Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce are all amazing. It is one of my all time favourite films, and it should be in everyone's collection.
While you may find the lack of proper menu and bonus HD features a bit disappointing, what truly counts is the quality of the movie transfer. On a first glance the picture seems a bit grainy and not razor-sharp, but this is what gives this modern noir masterpiece authentic feeling. A few minutes in the movie and you grow to appreciate how detailed and well-made this transfer is. You might not get "whatever you desire" with this special edition, but all in all, it's a joyful experience and well-worthy addition to your movie collection.
