In director Rian Johnson's sensational action thriller, Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) works as a looper, a futuristic assassin who eliminates targets sent back in time by a criminal organisation. The only rule is that you do not let your target escape - even if that target is you.
The rules are put to the test when Joe is called upon to "close his loop" and assassinate his future self (Bruce Willis). In failing to pull the trigger, so begins a desperate race against the clock as Joe begins to unravel his own future and older Joe's past.

A brilliant sci-fi film from relatively early film-directing career Rian Johnson. Went to see this at the cinema after loving his 2005 film Brick. This 4K disc is a huge upgrade in all the right places, and is probably to date, the last good performance from Bruce Willis. Regarding the steelbook, it's perfect for this film - the sleeve too. I'm glad they used the film's promotional posters as the basis for the steelbook design, and it's very nicely finished. This is the first time I have left a review for a product on Zavvi, as the reviews for pre-order steelbooks in particular aren't worth taking seriously. How you can review a physical product based on its mock up picture I just don't know. You have to wait until you've seen the finished product for your review to be worthwhile. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you don't buy it, don't review it. Simple. It's probably the same people who leave negative film reviews before they've seen the film....
Bought this 1 on a wim ,normally look at reviews before a 4k purchase but as I love this film I took a punt. For me ,this is a great transfer. All the film grain is present and correct ( fine and not intrusive)giving a true cinematic feel to this classic sci-fi. Steelbook is nice enough, added bonus of a slipcover, and personally I think all steelbooks should come with slipcover to give it protection and would probably save zavvi a lot of money in returns, infact make them more money! Only negative is that for some reason we weren't afforded dolby atmos or dtsx ,which is a shame.
Amazing artwork and amazing in 4K great film anyway highly recommend to family and friends
Already own the standard Bluray edition of the movie, however, once I saw the new clean and minimalistic artwork design and on the top being released in 4K glory, I just couldn't resist. Added bonus, it comes with slip cover. Another worthy 4K upgrade in anyone's collection - highly recommended
Overall I like the design of this steelbook. It reflects the story well and looks cool, but could have been better given the original steelbook for the film when it came out, which was much more interesting - 4*
It is quite a nice steelbook , so much detail has went in to it , goes quite well with my collection I would say its worth the price.
Overall, I think this is a rather nice steelbook with a simple but effective design. Could it have been better? Possibly, yes - spot gloss, full gloss and/or some embossing/debossing always helps to make a steelbook stand out from the crowd, which this one doesn't have. This edition also comes with a slipcase, which is a rather welcome addition.
Shame, as this is a great film but the steelbook doesn’t do it justice. The artwork is nice and would have been awesome either fully gloss with embossing or at least matt with spot gloss. Alas, neither and just flat matt :(
