Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) challenges the system and defies conventional wisdom when he is forced to rebuild his small-market team, on a limited budget. After hearing good things, I watched Moneyball with my girlfriend over the weekend and despite neither of us knowing much about baseball, and my girlfriend having zero interest in sport generally, we both really enjoyed it. It's an extremely well made dramatisation of what must have been a compelling true story anyway.
