Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is nearing the completion of his 3-year-long contract with Lunar Industries, mining Earth's primary source of energy on the dark side of the moon. Alone with only the base's vigilant computer Gerty (voiced by Oscar-Winner Kevin Spacey, 999 Best Actor, American Beauty) as his sole companion, Bell's [object]ed isolation has taken its toll. His only link to the outside world comes from satellite messages from his wife and young daughter. He longs to return home, but a terrible accident on the lunar surface leads to a disturbing discovery that contributes to his growing sense of paranoia and dislocation so many miles away from home. Moon is an engrossing, intelligent sci-fi thriller that ranks with genre classics like 200: A Space Odyssey.

A great film with an awsome sound track. The movie it's self is a little predictable, but it is dark story keeps you drawn in all the way to the end. You will really enjoy this film.
Moon is basically a one-actor film, a very good actor that is. We can see his lonelyness and boredom, generated from performing mundane tasks at the desolate station. This is not science-fiction that concentrates on showing new futuristic, technology. This is a story about a person, a person forced to live in an un-natural environment.
In my opinion this is one of the best Science Fiction films of recent times. Dealing with themes such as isolation, loss and an umoving resolve to find one's true purpose in 'life' , this film harks back to films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and classic Philip K Dick novels. This film packs so much into just over one and a half hours and of particular note is the excellent soundtrack. It goes to show that great films can be made on a limited budget (a modest $5million) Highly recommended.
Fantastic, understated film from director Duncan Jones with a standout performance from Sam Rockwell. Highly recommended on Blu Ray.
