Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is the leader of an elite Special Forces team who are called on a mission to the Central American Jungle to rescue a group of hostages from guerrilla territory. But once they arrive they find that there are much bigger things to worry about, like an unidentified creature that is stalking them and killing them off one by one.
An outstanding, action-packed blockbuster from the 80’s from director John McTiernan (Die Hard, Last Action Hero). Co-starring Carl Weathers (Rocky) and Sonny Landham (48 Hours). -M.F.

A classic film that I never get tired of watching
First up, I'm really reviewing the film so much as this release of it, I'm sure you know the film is great or you wouldn't be here. So this is the "Ultimate Hunter Edition" of Predator, the question is then - is this edition really any better than previous releases? In a word YES! I owned the first Blu Ray release and still own the Predator 1 & 2 SE Boxset and this is way better than either! Picture: The picture quality is very good, there are a few scenes which aren't good but these are few and far between. For the most part the picture is sharp and the jungle really looks good, effects are excellent too! Detail is high and its obviously been really cleaned up for this transfer. Sound: DTS-HD Master Audio sound track was brilliant. The gun shots and explosions sound like they've been completely redone compared to the DVD (I compared a couple of scenes). Ambient sounds of the jungle are clear and the surround sound effect makes it feel like you are there. Scenes like the raid on the rebel camp are a real treat, with the surround sound again doing its job as guns seem to be firing from all around you. Extra Features: Its packed with features, including a Directors Commentary, Making of Documetary and looks at special effects, the predator camo and deleted scenes and outtakes. Overall I am very pleased with this release as its definitely and improvement on the (very ordinary) previous blu-ray release. There are a few scenes which let it down a bit but I think they just go to show how good the rest of it is and they don't detract from the experience. Finally we have some decent special features too which were not on the first blu-ray release.
When I was a child my friend came over to my house and we watched Predator from a sleeping bag, like we were in the jungle. Predator is one of the greatest action movies of the 80s, exotic enviroments, strong, brutal guys, who shoot first and ask questions last. The Blu-ray transfer is immaculate for me. The sound makes the jungle come in to my room and the picture is also perfect. Very colorful, very sharp and more than enough.
Excellent classic movie, with excellent quality, with a large number of choice of languages including Russian and supplementary materials.
