Academy Award Nominee Liam Neeson and Oscar Winner Jessica Lange give extraordinary performances as the legendary hero who refused to let his enemies destroy his honour and the loyal woman who gave him the courage to fight. Boasting "one of the great action sequences in movie history" (Roger Ebert), Rob Roy is a breath-taking, epic adventure and "one of the best films of the year" (Gene Siskel). When a harsh winter threatens the majestic Scottish Highlands, Rob Roy Macgregor (Neeson) is forced to borrow money from the less-than-noble Marquis of Montrose (John Hurt) to provide for his clan. But when Montrose’s henchman (Tim Roth in an Oscar-Nominated performance) conspires to take the wealth for himself, Roy is thrust into the most challenging battle of his life.

A fantastic film, the main sword fight is the best I've seen and Liam Neeson is at his best. Excellent quality high definition experience too, well worth a watch!
This is an excellent film, I love the portrayal of Tim Roth as the Oscar nominated nasty vile villain Archie Cuningham! and John Hurt is very good as the Marquis of Montrose, I'd also like to mention Brian Cox who's popped up in films for years and is great in this film. I remember reading of Rob Roy in comics when I was a child so this film lives up to the period and adventure of it all, very good. I'd recommend this film if you haven't seen it.
They certainly put time and effort into restoring Rob Roy for Blu-ray. It has superb colours and fantastic video quality.
