Get ready to kick some grass!
Sing (Chow) is a skilled Shaolin kung fu devotee whose amazing "leg of steel" catches the eye of a crippled former soccer star turned coach! Together they assemble a squad of Sing's former Shaolin brothers (now disgruntled in a comical variety of unsatisfactory occupations!) inspired by the big-money prize in a national soccer competition and Sing's wish to repay the kindness of local 'beauty' Mui (Zhao Wei). Using an unlikely mix of martial arts and newfound soccer skills, it seems an unbeatable combination...until the band of misfits must face the dreaded Team Evil in the ultimate battle for the title!
With tons of action, eye-popping special effects and nonstop laughs, here's a hilarious martial arts comedy that's also the craziest football film ever!

This is the way soccer is suppose to be played. Gorgeous story and funny as heck.
Really good film it brings back the true meaning of football(soccer). An underdog side get's to go all the way to a Cup Final against the Nation's Top Side but they are doing it the Shaolin way. It end's up being a movie against good & evil. Kept me Entertained all the way through
Shaolin soccer was the first Stephen Chow movie I had seen and also the best one yet. It brings back positive memories (I've loved Japanese cartoon "Captain Hawk" which is, like "Shaolin soccer", all about crazy soccer skills). That is why I had to buy this movie. Unfortunately, in my country "Shaolin soccer" is unavailable at blu-ray format. The only thing I have to criticize about this edition is very limited subtitle version available on the disc. It's not a very big deal for me to watch movies with english subtitles but some of my friends prefer domestic version of subtitles due to better understanding dialogues which is something I can't offer with this version. I don't understand why distributors are reluctant to face the needs of foreign customers...
Steelbook received in mint condition and quickly. Excellent price for a very stylish steelbook.
One of Stephen Chows great comedies, Shaolin Soccer is a weird and funny movie. The steelbook artwork is really good and the bluray comes with both Cantonese audio and a surprisingly good English dub. The lack of special features on the disc is a let down.
The design of the steelbook and the bluray disc were excellent As it says matrix meets football, good fun lots of laughs and good action moves. If you like football and martial arts then you will love this film.
The first film from Stephen Chow that I watched and was entertained immensely as it is hilarious and serious at the same time, which is comedy gold if you can do it successfully and Stephen Chow does it flawlessly. That been said I still like Kung Fu Hustle more but this film stands out for its involvement with the sport of Soccer as its main focus along with Kung Fu. Bluray disc delivers a nice picture quality but does lack any special features at all. It does give you though both the Cantonese and English versions of the film. This is point is made as both versions are different. The Cantonese version is better in my opinion. (While watching it for the first time I put the English version on and couldn't handle it so I started it again in Cantonese.) Overall the film is very entertaining and you get two versions but the disc does lack those special features.
Very detailed and beautiful exclusive steelbook A must have item for blu Ray steelbook collector
The design of the steelbook and the bluray disc were excellent~ This is an must-buy item for the fan of Stephen Chow's comedy~
this is a Hong Kong very famous movie, that is good design steelbook.
Probably the funniest man in the film world. I've been watching Chow Sing Chi for about 25 years now & have seen nearly all of his 50+ filmography. A lot of them directed & produced by him. It's quite hard to describe his films because they are unlike anything or one you've seen before. Their usually visually & verbally hilarious (especially his mo lei tau or nonsense talk). They can have dance routines or songs performed by the cast. Crazy Looney tunes type slapstick, satire, ironic product placement, mad kung fu fights. Basically his films can go anywhere, they are wildly unpredictable. Shaolin Soccer is a great place to start. The easiest way to describe the film is football crossed with the Matrix, but there's so much more to the film. You do not even have to like football to love this film. So do your soul a favour & watch this & I promise you will fall in love with Stephen Chow. Then go & seek out Kung Fu Hustle. The steelbook is very nice - great art on the front, back & inside. There is no embossing, debossing etc & I found the art a bit dull, I was expecting the images to be a bit brighter, more colourful. But it's still a nice steelbook.
