Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Casino) directs this exceptional adaption of Dennis Lehane's novel Shutter Island. Leonardo DiCaprio gives a riveting performance as U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels. Teddy has been paired up with newly assigned partner Detective Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) to investigate the disappearance of Rachel Solando, a murderess who has escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane on a remote island located in Boston Harbour.
Upon arriving the two detectives are forced to surrender their weapons and then are taken to meet the head psychiatrist Dr. John Cawley (Ben Kingsley) who explains how impossible it is for anyone to make it out of the island. The longer the two detectives are on the island the more uneasy Teddy begins to feel as they begin to uncover much more than expected and come to realise that Rachel may not even exist. But what is the real reason they have been assigned to this island? -M.F.

amazing!
This movie is great. In my opinion, this is the best performance of leo di caprio. An incredible movie with an ending open to different considerations.

Shutter Island
Another Scorsese classic! Absolutely brilliant film. I hadn't seen this film since it was in the cinema, and felt it was time to watch it again. I can safely say it was a lot easier to understand the second time around. Delivery was excellent as well as it came within 2 days after I ordered it.

Classic
Shutter Island combines Scorsese and Di Caprio togther again in another classic. Very atmospheric and thrilling throughout. Now a prized part of my Blu-Ray collection.

get your thinking caps on
Shutter Island is a film with a plot that keeps you going even after you've put the disc back in the case. The story is easy enough to follow but complex enough that its remains interesting throughout. The twists are difficult to see coming and add to the sense of bewilderment that grows throughout the film. The plot is dark and not really suitable for young children. Learnardo Di Caprio is his usual standard of brilliant, seemlessly fitting into the role. The rest of the cast do a more than adequate job in their roles also. The film has not much action... but you won't mind, because it's all about the story. This film is perfect for anyone who likes to guess the ending half way through, anyone who likes the "who-dunnit" approach . It's also great if you like Thrillers or Dramas. The film isn't an action romp or a barrel of laughs, but a clever tale of misdirection and red herrings.
