The box itself is gorgeous; it opens up like a book and contains 40 pages of the movie. Since I only have seen it on DVD, this is an upgrade for the picture. The sound could have upgraded to DTS-HD MA, since it "only" have DTS, but it is OK. Glad I bought it. Thanks, Zavvi!!!
I've always loved Tim Burton's Film's and this highly underrated Movie is one of his best. The story is based on the short story the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The Movie has a stellar cast who's acting is second to none. Tim Burton really sets the atmosphere as he does in all his Movies from the creepy town of Sleepy Hollow to the Set design, Costumes and Score. Johnny Depp takes the lead with his Character Ichabod Crane and as always makes it his own. Rather than talking about the Movie I'll talk about the release. The transfer is great but it's a shame it hadn't been remastered to 4K. The sound is also great. The cardboard packaging is OK but a Steelbook edition would of been much better. The included 40 page short story isn't something I'll read but I'm sure it will be a nice addition for some collectors. The extra features are very poor with only a couple of short documentaries. This release could of been so much more but still a great addition to my collection. Thank you.
For a 20-year anniversary edition, I wanted more special features over the scenes and so on. Unfortunately there is not much news for an anniversary edition. The 40-page book of Washington Irving's beloved short story is excellent and in a wonderful shape. The film is still exciting with the timeless, sometimes funny and stunning special effects. And of course the amazing score by Danny Elfman, now in DTS 5.1 Sourround, shakes my floor and my walls! I think my neighbors hate me now !!
What a quality product this is, lovely atrwork and presentation. Good for the price aswell. A classic movie that deserves this.
The last best thing that came from Tim Burton. A beautiful film with a great cast, visuals and a stunning score by Danny Elfman which still stands the test of time. :)
Although the extras and artwork are great the book itself isn’t as sturdy as I would have hoped, I like it as a special edition but would prefer that the steelbook was still available. Blu ray itself and the film are great tho.
Good movie and decent bluray release with good extras, although not the best possible transfer, but still watchable.
As a collector of many different movies and collectors editions and such, this anniversary digibook was a must have, and I must say it's gorgeous. A lovely piece to show of and own.
