Now for the first time on Blu-ray. Based upon the novel by John Boyne, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a heart-wrenching tale of an unlikely friendship that forms between the son of a concentration camp commander and a young Jewish boy during World War II. Directed by renowned British filmmaker Mark Hermon (Little Voice, Brassed Off) the film features a cast that includes Vera Farmiga (The Departed) and David Thewlis (Mike Leigh's Naked, The Big Lebowski).

A sad but ironic film that pulls at your heart strings (like Schindler's List) and gives you a fresh perspective on the holocaust and it's effect. Innocence, dogma, ignorance, prejudice - it's all here, along with an overwhelming sense of helplessness. A very understated and clever film that will wring you out emotionally. Highly recommended!

I have already seen The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas on DVD but not on Blu-ray. It is a very sad film, with some good actors. Treat yourself to the film, sit down and enjoy.
