The Last Days on Mars The Last Days on Mars
  • Description

On the last day of the first manned mission to Mars, a crew member of Tantalus Base believes he has made an astounding discovery - fossilised evidence of bacterial life. Unwilling to let the relief crew claim all the glory; he disobeys orders to pack up and goes out on an unauthorized expedition to collect further samples.

But a routine excavation turns to disaster when the porous ground collapses, and he falls into a deep crevice and near certain death. His devastated colleagues attempt to recover his body. However, when another vanishes they start to suspect that the life-form they have discovered is not yet dead. As the group begins to fall apart it seems their only hope is the imminent arrival of the relief ship Aurora.

Interesting.

I did not think was going to be up to much initially to be honest so I approached this film with caution, as it turned out it was actually very good. The high point for me is all the technology in it, it is very realistic with wonderful sets, especially the suits and the rovers / vehicles, looks like a good chunk of the budget was spend here. Once the film gets going it turns almost into a zombie / slasher movie, I will not give plot details away but imagine PROMETHEUS mixed with 28 DAYS LATER mixed with LEVIATHON and your getting there. Overall a good popcorn movie with a few good shocks and surprises. 4**** from me!!!!

One of Liev Schreiber better films.

A low budget version of Prometheus, with some impressive set designs and visual effects. Liev Schreiber is the main lead role, his performance was well acted and same goes for the rest of the cast, lots of character development throughout especially when things go wrong within last hour. Its descent Sc-Fi horror film with some good use of practical effects but nothing overly special about the film, you probably seen better. Overall an enjoyable watch.
