The Mask

One of Jim Carrey's better movies from the 90's. A very enjoyable movie for the whole family. Love the artwork on this steelbook. You have the beautiful Cameron Diaz on the back of the steelbook . She was so hot in this movie. Bought this steelbook because, I don't have to many comedies in my steelbook collection. If your a fan of Jim Carrey. Gorgeous Steelbook, Ok film!

1994 was a fantastic year for films and Jim Carrey, Jan De Bont's Speed was a huge hit, James Cameron's True Lies was sensational, Stallone & Stone sizzled in the sucky The Specialist, Jeff Bridges & Tommy Lee Jones faced off in Blown Away and Harrison Ford returned as Jack Ryan in clear and present danger, captain Kirk said farewell in Star Trek Generations, Van Damme had two mild hits TimeCop & Street Fighter, Steven Seagal's film debut was that bad (nor realistic) On Deadly Ground, and Forrest Gump & Shawshank Redemption for just amazing. In 1994 also was the year that Canadian comedian Jim Carrey exploded to the screen, in an unprecedented 3 box office smashes back to back, first was Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in the beginning of the year, it was followed by The Mask in the summer and Dumb & Dumber in the holidays. Wow impressive. The Mask was directed by Charles "Chuck" Russell who had at the time under his credits being one of the writers for A Nightmare On Elm 3: Dream Warriors and director of The Blob (1988). He later went on to direct Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1996's Eraser. The Mask itself has a lot going for itself, Jim Carrey's performance, CGI was practically on its infancy in 1991 and it introduced the world to Cameron Diaz. It is a mixture of 1920's detective film noir mixed with the wildness of the old Warner Bros' cartoons. The film works in the sense of it actually entertains the viewer. So disconnect your brain and have some fun. Zavvi, Warner Bros. & Scanavo have provided an extremely beautiful Steelbook case that it seems to pop up in your hands do to the vibrant colors. It is a one hub Steelbook done with matte finish. if you are a true Steelbook collector you will enjoy this beauty. Willo007.
