The Truman Show
  • Description
He's the star of the show - but he doesn't know. Jim Carrey wowed critics and audiences alike as unwitting Truman Burbank in this marvel of a movie from director Peter Weir about a man whose life is a non-stop TV show. Truman doesn't realise that his quaint hometown is a giant studio set run by a visionary producer/director/creator (Ed Harris), that folks living and working there are Hollywood actors, that even his incessantly bubbly wife is a contract player. Gradually, Truman gets wise. And what he does about his discovery will have you laughing, crying and cheering like few film stories ever have.

the Truman show

An absolutely brilliant film! Moving and thought provoking with a somewhat dark theme whilst stillmanaging to be heart warming. Definitely one to watch over a few times. This is the film that got me taking Jim Carrey seriously, I'd grown up seeing him do the goofy roles, pulling faces and putting on voices and thought that was great but never fully appreciated his skill as an actor until seeing this. I first watched this film on video and have to say the bluray is fantastic. This film has never looked so good but it's really not one of those films that's just there to be pretty, it has such a strong story and a lot of lessons to be learnt from it, really a must watch.

Awesome Film Love It

The Truman Show

The Truman Show is an amazing movie. It is sad in parts, but it's mainly fun. I recommend this movie highly as it is a great performance by Jim Carey.
