The Truest Grit
Great Film / Great Quality Much closer to the book than Henry Hathaway's 1969 version

True Grit
Loving the original Rooster Cogburn movies I was in two minds whether or not to purchase this Blu-ray, not having seen it on the big screen as I prefer to do. Also John Waynes performance is outstanding so for someone to fit in his boots, so to say, well no worries as Jeff Bridges does put in a great interpretation on his character. For a remake I thought this was a fabulous movie, with great performances throughout the casting with a special mention of Hailee Steinfeld. A true and believable performance. The cinema photography is excellent which looks great on my 52" screen, with the panoramic views town scape and internal shots all looking great. The script is great too, and kept me in my seat for the whole of the movie. This is an excellent movie and will be watching it again very soon. Its got my top marks.

True Grit (Triple Play)
Although I'm not a huge fan of Western films, I thoroughly enjoyed True Grit and would recommend this film to anyone. Going in to the cinema, I knew I'd be in for a Coen Brothers treat, but little did I know that I'd end up falling in love with a Western.. For me, the star of the film was definitely Jeff Bridges, though I would find it hard to fault any of the characters, even Matt Damon (who I usually avoid). A proud addition to my DVD collection and another classic from Ethan and Joel.

True Grit
This is the new masterpiece of brothers Coen. A true and rude western story. Very good the performance of Jeff Bridges. One of the best western movies of the last years with Open Range of Kevin Costner. I think that is better then the movie with John Wayne. Vey good Video and Audio. This is surely a movie to have for any collector.

Jeff Bridges continues to excel!
Yet another brilliant film from the Coen brothers, and one that any movie fan should have in their collection. I have never seen the original, purely for my distaste for John Wayne, but It didn't put me off wanting to see this version. It's inclusion of Bridges, Damon and Brolin only strengthens the film. The Coens have shown the acting power that Bridges can command before with The Big Lebowski, and continue this here. Though the most surprising is Hailee Steinfeld, and it is frankly amazing that she managed to outdo three fantastic actors. She carries the film and does a great job with the role of a young girl out for revenge after the death of her father by Brolin. She really does come across as someone who can rein in and demand respect from Bridges character, as Im sure she has managed to do to everyone watching this film. She does demand respect as an actor, and I can see her abilities going very far. By far one of the best Westerns, and a fantastic film in its own right.
