England is in civil war as the Royalists battle Oliver Cromwell’s Roundheads for control. This conflict distracts people from rational thought and allows unscrupulous men to gain power by exploiting village superstitions. One of these men is Matthew Hopkins (Vincent Price), who tours the land offering his services as a persecutor of witches. Aided by his sadistic accomplice John Stearne (Robert Russell), he travels from town to town and wrenches confessions from "witches" in order to line his pockets.

Good pressing on blue ray but a very dated film the extras for me are better than the film. ok for one of viewing.
Vincent Price in one of his best performances. This movie has it all what you would expect from a Vincent Price movie. Action and lots of thrills. The picture quality is beautiful and the extras are great. Cannot recommend this enough.
Brilliant 1968 film starring Vincent Price as a man seeking witches and dispatching them by hanging and drowning..looking wonderful on blu-ray at last. A must buy.
This notorious UK shocker is Vincent prices best film, it is emotionally engaging, gripping and ultimately frightening. He plays a brilliant role as the sinister witchfinders general. Unfortunately this film was notorious in the UK because it's graphic violence, however this Blu-rays completely uncut and restores all the scenes of the censored version. See it for yourself and overlooked masterpiece of classic cinema that is finally being appreciated by modern day audience.
