Welcome To The Wasteland

Mad Max (1979) is a dystopian film that was directed by George Miller. The original film stars Mel Gibson as ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky. He is joined by Joanne Samuel, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Steve Bisley, Tim Burns, and Roger Ward.

Set in a future version of Australia, the film depicts a world where society has collapsed, with lawlessness taking centre stage. In the story, Max — an unhinged policeman — engages in a violent feud with a savage motorbike gang.

The film was the first in the Mad Max series. Multiple sequels followed, including Mad Max 2 (1981), Beyond The Thunderdome (1985), and Fury Road (2015).

Fury Road functions as a soft reboot for the franchise, starring Tom Hardy as the eponymous Max Rockatansky. The story follows Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) and Max as they attempt to liberate the wives of Immortan Joe after they escaped the Citadel. Riding in their War Rig, a massive armoured truck, they try to outrun the ruthless warlord and his henchmen in a deadly high-speed chase through the Wastelands.
