All Coppers Are
  • Description

This grim and gritty action thriller from director Sidney Hayers (The Professionals, Assault) pits two friends - one a policeman and one a criminal - against each other in this early 1970s examination of the relationship between players on both sides of the law. With energetic and compelling performances from MArtin Potter (The Caesars), Julia Foster (Alfie) and Nicky Henson (Eastenders), All Coppers Are... also features guest appearances from pop-star David Essex, Glynn Edwards (Minder) and Ian Hendry (The Avengers).

Joe, Sue and Barry - guests at a noisy wedding reception - meet as strangers but soon become boisterous friends. Barry doesn't know Joe is a policeman and Joe doesn't know Barry is planning a robbery, but it soon becomes obvious that they come from two different worlds. The only thing they have in common is Sue, but it becomes clear that she prefers the quiet, shy Joe to the flash Barry... and takes him home. But Joe is married, and when he goes home to his wife and child in a fit of guild, Sue becomes disillusioned and turns to Barry. It is not long before she is aware of his plan to hijack a cigarette transporter from a local warehouse, and sees the tension begin to take its toll on him..., This grim and gritty action thriller from director Sidney Hayers (The Professionals, Assault) pits two friends - one a policeman and one a criminal - against each other in this early 1970s examination of the relationship between players on both sides of the law.
