I love American Dad - Volume 7. I couldn't think of a better way to have a laugh this Christmas! I would recommend this to anyone and if they like Family Guy then even better!

The verdict is in: its still brilliant!

American Dad is back and the verdict is in: its still brilliant! There aren't many shows that can be this good for this long but American Dad is certainly one of them, it really is amazing how a show can be so consistent and so funny after so many years. Its a show you can really bank on for laughs. As usual with this show, there are many clever and creative stories for this batch of episodes; and with 19 of them included, you get a lot for your money. There is also a feature about American Dad at Comic Con 2010 (yet to be watched at the time of writing), a cool I love Patrick Stewart video and commentary on selected episodes its nice to know its there if I want it. As already mentioned, be expected to laugh a lot. The show has an awesome sense of humour, using the imaginative, the random and the surprising to bring in the laughs. The continuity in each episode is first-class and its wonderful when there are references to moments in past episodes. In addition to the primary characters being reliably funny, there are some nice moments involving secondary characters and some excellent guest appearances too (Héctor Elizondo is definitely worth a mention for his brilliantly bizarre appearance). There is rough with the smooth, but fortunately not a whole lot. There are definitely some weaker episodes and this volume isnt one of the stronger ones but this is like saying cake isnt as nice as ice cream, cake is still really delicious. There is also a continuing trend of not having much of Hayley and Klaus. They dont need to be featured loads, but theyre good characters who have had solid comic moments, stories and subplots in the past and I kind of miss that. The show is also evolving to be edgier and ruder. Though personally I dont always like this, American Dad does pull it off fairly well and uses great comedy and timing to make a large number of these jokes work, but some are weak because of it. I just hope they dont go too far into this direction, as it does also affect the characters we know and love, who can be very different from how they used to be and I don't want them changing too much, they are perfect as they are. I feel American Dad is much better than Family Guy and the Cleveland Show, yet it doesn't seem to get the acknowledgement it deserves. I highly recommend this DVD, youll enjoy it and it is proof that American Dad is a truly spectacular show. In short, know this: American Dad is one of the most original, hilarious and ingenious shows on TV.

The Laughter Returns

American Dad - Volume 7 returns to form with plenty of laughter in Langley Falls. The Halloween episode ranks as one of the best ever from any animated comedy for scares and laughs. Roger the Alien and his multiple personalities soars to new heights in terms of bizarre behaviour, bringing with it fits of laughter for the appreciative viewer. After a slight lull in recent seasons its great to see Stan and his family return to form. Keep us laughing please Mr.Mcfarlane.
