Christmas 1919. Downton Abbey is hosting a lavish Christmas party, yet despite being the season of goodwill, tensions are rife and Bates’s arrest has cast a shadow over the festivities. Will he be a condemned man or will he be found innocent in time to dance with his new wife at the annual servants’ ball? Mary has to consider her future with Sir Richard Carlisle following a contretemps at the shooting party and Violet has concerns about Rosamund, whose new suitor - the dashing but raffish Lord Hepworth, is not all he seems.

Christmas at Downton Brilliant! Made for a great line up for seanson 3. It was so enjoyable I watched it twice!
Love it. Ideal continuation to series two of Downton Abbey. The only problem is that it leaves you panting waiting for the next series. Can't wait!
Having anticipated the Christmas special edition after avidily being glued to season 1 and 2, I was not disappointed. A brilliant follow up to finish off the seasons and leave us eagerly awaiting season 3 later in the year. With a wedding on the way, a baby on the way and the possibility of life imprisonment, could Downton Abbey leave us wanting anymore?

I am a great fan of Downton Abbey and recorded the christmas special, but as with all great shows on ITV they fill them with adverts. This is why I always buy the dvd. I'm not going to go on about the DVD except to say that it's great.
It was a pleasure to watch as I did not see the episode when it was broadcast at Xmas. I am sure also that I will want to watch it again and it was well worth paying for the dvd in order to do this.
