Loved It!

I have loved this series since I was a small child. I was thrilled to find the entire series at zavvi and the price was excellent. Impressed with the very short time it took to arrive, considering an overseas order. It arrived packaged well and undamaged. The discs are presented attractively and are of excellent quality. I recommend this box set to anyone, whether for themselves or for a gift.

Lost In Space - Complete 23 DVD Box Set

This series was made by Irwin Allen in the 1960's around about the time as Star Trek was being made. I have to say that LIS is not as good as ST. The first season was made in monochrome and showed some promise with interesting ideas and early attempts to depict space walking. The second and third season were made in colour (garishly). The show degenerated into farce, with Dr Smith constantly being given "important" jobs which he always failed to do (usually by having a little nap). The characters developed very little and it became a "monster of the week" show. At this price (£29-95) I recommend this to anyone interested in 60's tv and sci-fi as an example of Irwin Allen's shows, but he made better. Check out "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", "The Time Tunnel" and "Land of the Giants".

The most economic way to own the complete episodes

I already owned the season one boxset, but as I had the opportunity of buying this three season collection at the same price I originally paid for just the first season, I bought it instead of purchasing the remaining two season boxsets individually. At first I wasn't sure if this complete three Season boxset contained more or fewer features than the individual boxsets, but it looks like they have taken the disks on the three individual series boxsets and repacked them in one 'Complete' collection - which should work out a lot cheaper than buying them as 3 individual boxsets. Some people have expressed disappointment that the episodes on the individual boxsets has original 20th Century Fox closing logo chopped out, and a modern Fox logo added. It didn't bother me, but if you are one of those people it does offend then it's also been replaced in this release. Personally I'd have liked a few more features for each series, but it's good to have a complete collection of all the episodes of this iconic Sci-Fi show that ran from 1965 to1968.
