Two best friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby, try to turn their regular, boring job as groundskeepers at a park into exciting adventures. Trying to entertain themselves by any means, and usually leading to a mess they've created, the two are joined by a hot-tempered gumball machine named Benson, a yeti named Skips, an English gentleman with a lollipop-shaped head named Pops, an overweight green man named Muscle Man, and High-Five Ghost, a ghost with a hand extending from the top of his head.
