The Caucasus Battles 1942-1943

This volume records the German drive into the oil fields of the Caucasus, which proved to be one of the high points of Hitler's military adventures. Starting in July 1942 and lasting almost 2 years, Hitler launched this attack after his failure to seize Moscow under the code name Operation Edelweiss.

Hitler sought control of the region's oil supplies and, if successful, Hitler would have had the fuel he needed to unleash a global war that could have lasted for decades.
