Set in quintessential 1950s England, The Darling Buds of May is rural idyllic bliss in its full glory as we follow the exploits of the Larkin family. Led by the loveable Pop Larkin (David Jason) and Ma Larkin (Pam Ferris) family life is never short of surprises, not least when their eldest daughter Marlette (Catherine Zeta-Jones) falls for the rather haphazard tax inspector Charlie. Life never looked anything short of perfick than on Home Farm! Starring: David Jason, Pam Ferris, Catherine Zeta-Jones; Philip Franks.

Great piece of nostalgia in an idealistic world. Always leaves me with a good feeling.
Highly entertaining as always, now I don't have to wait for repeats. The case was damaged due to packaging but why complain when a small dab of superglue and it's fixed!
My family and I quite enjoyed all the episodes. It was a great purchase.
What a classic show The Darling Buds of May - The Complete Collection is. I missed this when it was originally broadcast and it was a real treat to watch. David Jason is hilarious, as always.
This was bought as a Christmas gift so as yet has not been watched. However, I know it's going to be a big hit!
A great classic comedy set starring David Jason and Catherine zeta Jones as a family in post -war England , he doesn't believe in paying his taxes but is still a generous man who loves his family dearly. There's something very endearing about The Darling Buds of May. The bright English country side coupled with bright and life filled characters made this show very heart warming and easy to watch. I remember watching it with great interest as an adolescent and it's something that's stayed with me into my adulthood. For its time, The Darling Buds of May was showing a different side of British society. Although the Larkins weren't necessarily "wealthy" they were happy and they were very supportive as family. It's a breath of fresh air to watch such characters and the situations they get into. Takes you back to the old times and gives you a good laugh.
This series is about a family, who have an idealistic life. The whole series is funny, thoughtful, and makes fun of third-world issues, as if things were the same as they were, back where the whole series is set. My mother absolutely loves this series, and was very happy to receive it as a mother's day present. I definitely recommend it.
An excelent series and this was the complete 20th Anniversary collection - this was the lowest price for brand new I could find on the net inc p&p I am very pleased, can recommend.
