The Firm (1989) provides a tough portrait of adrenaline-fuelled football violence and an incisive political comment on 1980s Britain. It was the last production from legendary director Alan Clarke (Scum, Made In Britain) before his death in 1990, and was hugely controversial.

Clive 'Bex' Bissell is an intelligent family man with a good job... but he is also the leader of the East London hooligan firm Inter City Crew. Bex plans to unite rival gangs into a national firm to take to the European Championships in Germany. But if he wants to be 'top boy' then his firm will have to beat Oboe's Birmingham lads and South London's Buccaneers led by his arch rival Yeti.

But as Bex's craving for the 'buzz' of violence becomes an obsession, the violence spirals out of control....
