The Good Wife - Seasons 1-2

The Good Wife - Seasons 1-2 is excellent viewing, and a great storyline with lots of twists and turns. I could watch it over and over again. I can't wait for the next DVD series to be available to buy.

The Good Wife Seasons 1 and 2 show just how the Americans are able to make absorbing legal dramas, both well written and acted. No, of course it doesn't bear much relation to reality but it has enough glitz and glamour to make it entertaining. Each episode can be viewed on its own but there is a sub plot that links all the episodes together. The scripts are tight and the acting first rate. The sets are great (main female characters are very elegantly dressed). Once you have a box set it's hard not to just keep on viewing episode after episode.

I only caught this great series by accident on television, when season 3 was on. I firstly noticed it has a great cast, featuring Julianna Margulies from E.R. and Josh Charles from Dead Poets Society, and many more. Then I discovered that it was directed by none other than Tony and Ridley Scott. Each episode has it's own individual story, but to really appreciate the show, you need to delve deep back to the start which lead me to Zavvi, and I found it to be an absolute bargain. I definitely recommend you buy it. It's brilliant.

I bought The Good Wife boxset to watch Season 2, but we have decided to watch all of Season 1 again as well. I loved the show the first time around, and it still has the same appeal. Each episode has a great storyline with an even better underlying storyline. I love the story and the concept of the series. It is more than helping to fill the void now that Prisonbreak has finished.

The good wife is a great show that connects the drama and crime genres. It is gripping and doesn't fail to keep its audience interested. Each episode features a new case to be won and family relationships get challenged. Its a portrayal of a politician's wife trying to find her way amidst the challenges of living a public life and returning to work after being a housewife. Great show. And good cases that hold up with the crime and law content to be expected.
